Anyone have an iPad and an iPad mini? Which do you like better?
I have an old iPad and Im going to sell it on Craigslist and get a new iPad. Im debating between a regular ipad or getting an ipad mini.
I was wondering which you use more. My sister has both and told me she uses the mini more often because its light and easier to move around and hold. Was wondering how others felt |
I have both. The full size iPad has turned into our home toy. Games, Youtube, searching something while laying in bed. And the mini is mostly for work or out of the house. I have a shoulder case and I take it with me when I need to be in touch with people for projects that are too big to deal with on my phone. Great for work and the perfect size.

The ipad mini should have a phone in it.
And before the clueless chime in with how stupid you'd look holding up an ipad mini to your head and talking into it... that's what the headphones are for. |
the bigger one

If you need access to Wifi they both suck ass. Do yourself a favor and go test the wifi range at a local retailer and compare it to both windows and android.
Don't listen to fanboys and test for yourself. I own a mini and the wifi is useless if you aren't close to the router. It's not just a case of me having a bad unit either, as I've tested all the ipad models and they are all the same. Shit range with the built in wifi reception. |
Go with the ipad air
|
I eyeballed the mini but went with the Galaxy Note 8 instead. It's still small and light, but it's android and you can charge it with any standard micro USB. ;-)
I personally like the smaller tablets vs. the bigger ones because it's nicer to hold and read on. And, I can throw it in my bag easily. |
Mini
Soon as the Minis came out I sold my iPad on CL. Took all of 15 minutes to sell. Never had a wifi issue on either. But the Mini has Verizon as I travel a lot. Plus I can hot spot my Mac Air using the phone. Would be nice if the Mini was a phone, so I'd have one less thing to carry.
The smaller screen is no big deal. But my arthritic hands sure can tell the difference. At a garage sale found a small leather case with a calculator, ripped that out and it's the perfect carry case. Little purple ribbon and people think I'm carrying a bible. Nobody is going to jack a bible. |
I find the mini too small 4 guys fingers.
Girls like the mini especially because it fits in their purses. |
Have both, dislike both.
I use the standard iPad as a "Franklin Planner" and for watching movies on the plane; and thats about it. The mini imo is utterly useless. But I'm older than most here so it could be just an age thing. |

Meanwhile my smartphone which is a google nexus, has next to no issues with me selecting small sections of text or links. It's screen size is much smaller than my mini yet I have next to no problems using it. Simple fact is, if it wasn't for the 'brand name" iPads would be considered a sub par tablet. The only reason they are popular is due to the fanboy hype. Apple uses cheap parts and manufactures their shit in China and only reason they get the money they get is because of hype which is slowly losing steam. If you notice apple has lost a huge amount of their market share because people are figuring out other products are simply better and cost less. |
ipad mini :)

neither, as crockett said.

I have the air and my husband and daughter both have the mini - I had a mini for a bit and while it has it's advantages the air is much much better - it's bigger and I don't have near the hell seeing or typing on it - my eyes aren't what they used to be, so the bigger screen works better for me - the weight isn't that much different really.
I've traded up with each new ipad and so far the Air is by far my favorite! |
