MrBottomTooth 04-10-2014 12:14 PM

New furnace and a.c.replaced for about $8300.

My originals were only about 11 years old but they were junk and the a.c. was not properly sized from the start, so once they started to crap out I decided to replace them instead of fixing them again. The new a.c. should save me a lot of money this summer anyway.

Flight from Europe and back; car rental; hotel every night, restaurants... it was a 2 person trip also...

But biggest cut went to tips... $100 for opening door is pretty decent, right?

If you wasted a trip across the US at fast food places that is your fault. I have traveled all over the US without stopping at any fast food joints.

Same here. Part of the fun of going somewhere new is to try out the local food.

Well... biggest negative of the USA for me to be honest was the food... try to find a decent place with decent food in these mid American small towns. Even if we avoided the fastfood we ended up in places they call "restaurants"... sitting on plastic furniture which we Europeans use for camping.... and full tl lights on... as if you're in a football stadium...

kane 04-10-2014 02:20 PM

Mine was a trip to Egypt.

SilentKnight 04-10-2014 02:55 PM

New roof, furnace and central AC - all at approx. the same time.

Mid America with crap furniture typically has the best food. Sounds like you were too focused on the camping gear to pay attention to the food.

The best food I buy right now comes out of a trailer.
