I doubt he took the trip, probably seen the research and didn't want to seem like a conspiracy nut.

He dun goofed. Imperial gallons are different than US gallons. 1 US gallon = .83 Imperial gallons. 45 US MPG = 54 Imp MPG. Or, 65 Imp MPG = 54 US MPG.

Of course there could still be a difference anyway because the US has tougher emission standards, so maybe US catalytic converters constrict the exhaust more than their EU counterparts.

          ps. Buy Tesla.

            He hasn't...

            Extra-urban (mpg / ltr per 100km) 78.5 / 3.6

that is 78.5 mpg (miles per gallon) on the 1.6 TDI 90PS engine. (or 65.2 mpg US if that is showing IMP)

                I believe him...
I rented a Toyota Verso (Diesel) when i was in France in September, 62MPG
Looked for it when I came back the US and you can't find it.

The most efficient (gas) car I know of is the Toyota Prius with 50 MPG, how come you can't get them in the US?

I believe the mileage figures. I don't believe the highway tax conspiracy.

Is the USA more strict on the emissions than eu? I thought it was the other way around
