This guy rocks - Gene Kelly

Ok tell me this guy can't dance. Then, since he did the job, tell me he can't direct!

The era when men were men and women were women. And everyone knew what beauty and class were.

Today's Hollywood is nothing when compared to the greats such as Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire, Danny Kaye and the extremly beautiful Rita Hayworth.

Thanks for the film.

Agreed, it's a bummer his last real film was Xanadu.

You know the porn industry in many ways mirrors the decline of Hollywood. When I look back at the photos I did in the 1960s/70s and then see the shit that I made the last 15 years...

There are just no words to describe my feelings.

A classic indeed! I have to admit I didn't know he directed this movie (alongside Stanley Donen). What a talented man he was! :thumbsup

CurrentlySober 04-07-2014 02:15 AM

i like to take a poo outside, in the rain....

saves wiping...

Harmon 04-07-2014 02:21 AM

Yeah he was as talented as they come back trhen. As somebody mentioned before, that's when Hollywood was Hollywood. All of the glitz and glamor.

This is actually my favorite scene from the movie. Gene Kelly, Donald O'connor and Debbie Reynolds.

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 04-07-2014 02:42 AM

Quite a talented dancer... :)

Yeah Kelly was an amazing director. Donen shot musicals like theatrical events - flat-on camera, not much cutting. Kelly injected the camera in with the action, making it as much one of the dancers in the choreography as a member of the troupe. The whole camera action in the Singin' in the Rain number is a prime example.

:D

He was a legend! It's a classic among classics. It makes me smile everytime I see it. :)

Amazing film. Amazing actor/dancer/singer/director. I heard he was really sick with a hihg fever when he filmed the dance sequence for Singing In the Rain. Incredible.

He was also a perfectionist when it came to dancing. He made Debbie Reynolds rehearse so much her feet would bleed.

According to my mother, when I was a toddler,I used to dance around the living room singing this song whenever it rained. The scene is one of those works of art that you can't help but appreciate even if it isn't in your genre.
