MechTemplates: Scammer or incompetent? Advice needed
Commissioned MechTemplates for a tour, members area and blog design + implementation.
Quoted 2 week job by Jason Miller from mechTemplates, paid invoice 21 Jan, STILL no results. Absolutely latest deadline I needed the project for already way over due. Nearly no point in me getting the new layout and shit now as it was for a specific even and there is just no time to even get it up and functioning let alone having it look like I want and paid the designer for. It's over 2 months late!! They seemed to have ok rep but IDK what the fuck is going on. Not getting responses on skype, guy is pussy footing about the issue. I want to get a refund but IDK what to do. Advice? -------------------------- Oder of events: Shit is agreed apon, invoice sent, received & paid on 21st of January 2014. Left in the fucking lurch, no work done thats anything other than super super basic (not even a full layout idea / draft for the tour) by mid Feb, after excuses of personal drama, which I left slide for a week and a bit. Emailed on March 1 I need this job completed, integrated and tested, by April at the absolute latest and that personal BS isn't an acceptable excuse When you accept a job you do it, or if you can't you refund. It's already past absolute latest deadline given, and my actual deadline is tomorrow. Seen a mock up for tour, mock up still isn't finished for members area (and is a hack copy + paste of my current members area), no blog or other pages quoted for like biopage etc done. Clearly no coding or integration done yet. |

oaded post. Not sure where to start... Likely not the best email to send. |
There was lots of email / skype messages in between, and each time I requested an update I was told he hadn't started or done much yet, because of xyz personal reason, for weeks after I'd paid my invoice. Because I wasn't seeing anything done at all, and was getting replies to my emails / messagtes days after I sent them that didn't explain anything or update me but looked like stalling I had to make it clear that I had a deadline, which is why I went with them as they said 2 week turnaround time.

I've done work for him in the past. Not a scammer.
Dealing with me he's always been honest. |

Still need advice.
Can't get a paypal refund at this stage, not sure what I should do. |
Just to clear something up as this has come up in the past - We do not run MechTemplates.com and are not affiliated with him in any way other then that he makes and sells templates that work with our scripts. It's a completely separate business, and has nothing to do with us.

MechTemplates guy is not a scammer, but he is not a designer or programmer either. He is a sales guy, he only bought/ordered few templates from a designer and sold them trough his site. You would better contact designers directly, there are a lot of them here on gfy - and some are really skilled.

Private forum?
Do you really need a private forum these days when there are no more than 30 people on gfy? :1orglaugh |
