Sad

Yesterday here in town a man died in a motorcycle accident. He was married, and had five kids - two of which are mentally disabled. That's got to suck.

JA$ON 04-04-2014 11:44 AM

Sorry to hear that :(

I have 3 kids and thus would NEVER ride a motorcycle! NOT judging those who do at all. I think they are fun, but not worth the risk. I know a few guys who simply could not trade in their bikes no matter what and Im all about personal freedom and liberty....

Just not willing to orphan my kids because some 17 yr old decides to blow a red light cuz she can't wit to get home to text.

Most motorcycle accidents are stupid mistakes.

I ride most every day in Los Angeles, I plan on having an accident someday, but will put it off as much as possible by paying attention. I took the safety class and learned from it. I pay attention. The is a high speed class I want to take this summer from the same people.

Matter of fact, taking my girl out for lunch on the Harley in a few minutes

You sound like the divorce attorney I shunned many years ago.

You're not the problem. The problem is the kid in a car driving into you because he is young/inexperienced/drunk whatever

I have some dear, dear friends that have been riding daily for years and love it, no issues ( I know you ride as well)

I also have 2 friends i the ground from accidents that were not their fault.

If someone is drawn to ride they should, but I am not, so for me, the risk is not worth the reward.

+1

I'll ride a bike off-road, where it's me against nature, but I'm not taking a 2-wheel chance against all of the bad/drunk/distracted 4-wheel drivers drivers that are out there on the road, destined for an accident. :2 cents:

In my town in the last month, 16 year old texting kills 2, 89 year old kills three in church parking lot when she hit the gas and not the brake, 1 person dies while watching TV when a car speeding around a turn runs off the road and crashes into a house. You never know but just sucks when someone else ends your life even though you were being safe

Sednub997 04-04-2014 12:49 PM

there is accident every day but too bad for that family

seeandsee 04-04-2014 12:51 PM

Sad story, i dont like bikes of any kind because you are in big danger at road

michael.kickass 04-04-2014 01:08 PM

That definitely sucks.

that's why you don't just use your eyes to look at the lights when going through intersections. I use the same mantra while riding a bicycle. Trust no one, nobody sees you ever, if you can't see around a blind corner? edge out until you can. Keep your distance from everyone because everyone is texting and distracted. Don't make a habit of riding at night.

its kept me safe in traffic so far anyway.

Rochard 04-04-2014 01:29 PM

It's sad when someone dies. Just much more sadder when five kids loose their father.

I know that, that's part of what you have to look for and kick a few car doors along the way
