The Shiba Inu is best in a home without other small dogs or young children

you got either?

If you want a large breed i cannot recommend Boerboels enough they are a awesome breed, great temperament (even with kids) and make a great family pet as well as a guard dog, very under stated breed but i love them

Do yourself a favor and adopt one from the pound. Save a furry friend. :2 cents:

They shed. Strong prey drive so always on-leach when walking. Assertive, so need strong master. Generally pretty healthy I hear. Cute and awesome, obviously. I don't have my own.

I know Quagmire was looking at getting one, but they didn't have any in our area. Apparently they are loyal and don't bark much.

What sort of attributes are you looking for in a dog?

There are 100s of cute loyal doggies at your local shelter that really really need a loving home. Save one of them instead of going with a vanity breed.

fuzebox 04-04-2014 03:53 PM

They are intelligent, stubborn dogs and very difficult to train. Not recommended as someone's first dog.
