Richmond, VA - nice area?

Not really...it's an ok area,you don't have to worry about getting robbed or anything lol... But it's not your typical go and hang out type of city

But you're like 20 min away from me,thats a definate plus! :1orglaugh

what's the job if you don't mind me asking?

I actually grew up in richmond & go there once/twice a month, hit me up on icq i can give you the ins & outs on the city.

Some facts.....

- former capital of the confederacy
- very conservative city
- very good nightlife on weekends & weekdays (shocko slip/bottom)
- tons of hot republican girls (driving volvo's & daddys beamer)
- very good internet connections & infrastructure
- decent job market (especially internet related)
- good radio stations (if you're into alternative/rock)
- good clubs with good local bands (guar is from richmond :Graucho )

STAY AWAY FROM CHURCH HILL AREA (cannot stress this enough)

Looking for a great weekend welcome to the city?...(Cary Town) Great resteraunts, Arts, & college girls walking all over (near VCU).

Hardly any homeless people....fairly clean streats, fairly safe city (since the jaimacan drug gangs left in the early 90's)

A great place to raise a family, but you may suffer a bit of culture shock, not a very ethnic town.

Southside (chesterfield) - cute redneck girls (blue collar side of town)

Southside (brandermill) - Upper Class / nice town

Westend (henrico / shortpump) Awsome town, get a house here!

Carytown (if you can afford it, live there!)

Richmond (only live in the city if you plan on getting a studio in like the tabacco row area)

Eastend, Lakeside (redneck/ghetto)

Richmond sounds like my type of place!

I get in Monday afternoon, start work Tues. morning.

Hey Eric I also grew up in Richmond unfortuantely no to far from the Church Hill part Pro was talking about back in the 80's and early 90's. It was not a good place to grow up then but it has gotten drastically better. He gave you a pretty good description of the area. I went back for the first time in 4 years a couple of weekends ago and got stuck in an icestorm that was a nightmare. The last two times I have been there they have had ice storms. The one night that I did get to go out though I did realize that the nightlife has gotten better and the girls easier. Just my :2 cents:

I went to VCU in Richmond in the late 80's...and Chesterfield has aways been a nice area.

I live on a lake outside of Roanoke, VA now - and Spring is in the air my friends!! :)
