slope is an offensive word

I have not heard that slope is an offensive word before.

I watched the show and did not think it was done as an insult.

But there was a slope on it..

however more you watch, the more you wonder if they were trying to be cheeky, or was it said in an innocent way.

I've heard a few of the old Vietnam vets use it before talking about Vietnamese people, kind of like using that instead of gook, etc.

so is "flip" in the wrong company

I do not think its used in the uk.

that said I wonder if they [those on top gear] knew about it and said it to see if they could get away with it, knowing that no one in the uk would have known about the word.

i did wonder at the time why they said it.

it seemed odd thing to say.

Slope, slopehead, slopy, slopey, sloper
(US and Aus) a person of Asian (in Australia, especially Vietnamese; in America, especially Chinese) descent.

The great problem is that they were putting gags in the show all through the show.
