Subscribe Me Pro works fine, but I think that really big lists, like hundreds of thousands, are better off being managed by a system with a database backend, rather than text files. That's just my opinion, some people probably disagree.

Mojo is the way to go. Shell out the $50 if you use it commercially. It's a great program.

Subscribe me pro is ok... I've had the script for 3 years...

For a serious mail list solution checkout Mailloop.

There is more to mailing your list, which is about the only thing Subscribe Me Pro does.

Mailloop allows you to filter and manage your opt-in lists.

I've been publishing large mainstream e-mail lists for years. These are the programs/services I'd recommend...

If you want it to run locally try:

http://www.marketingtips.com/mailloop/t.x/20143

If you want it hosted try:

http://www.sparklist.com/

If you want it on your server try:

Or if you're prepared to spend big money see:

http://www.lyris.com (this is what I use)

from mailoop page:

"A terrific asset to my business! The mail merge builds a trust with (my newsletter subscribers) which can't be achieved in any other way. It's truly the most powerful tool I have -- to be able to use a persons name wherever I want throughout my newsletter. I now have advertisers flocking to me because of the results they achieve through promotion in my newsletter. Advertising revenue this year will exceed $200,000 and a large part of that is due to the capabilities of Mailloop. What do you have planned next?"

Hi,

We a few months now we have used Mojo Mail, and it works perfect.

Lots of good admin features, double opt-in, etc.
