Sounds a little bit grotesque, but... It's nature. When I take my dog for a walk and she tears after a rabbit it's not because my dog thinks the rabbit is cute, it's because she wants to tear the rabbit to shreds. My cat used to stalk birds and rats and mice and when it caught one... It used to drag it home for my approval.
