New York Jets sign quarterback Michael Vick and release Mark Sanchez

Michael Vick has a home. Geno Smith just saw his dwelling upended.

And this soap opera will take place where? New York, of course.

Vick was a free agent without a home until the New York Jets gave the quarterback a chance, signing him to a one-year deal worth $5 million, according to ESPN?s Adam Schefter. Vick officially signed with the Jets on Friday.

As a result of Vick?s signing, the Jets released former first-round draft pick Mark Sanchez after five seasons with the team.

As an Eagles fan, I was hoping that he wouldn't get the opportunity to start elsewhere. I don't think he'll start a full season anywhere (too injury prone), but he would make an awesome threat as a back-up.

The Jets better hope Geno can play better than he has, because when Vick goes down (when, not if), it will all fall on him.

That being said, I respect the hard work Vick has put in over the past few years, and hope he does find success in NY.

As another Eagles fan, I'll just add that we better hope Foles doesn't fall flat on his face this year (remember we're talking about the Eagles after all).
