Tech Question - VGA, HDMI, DVI?..
Is there much difference in picture quality between them?..
I have got a new video card and I am trying to work out what holes on what monitors I should use..... |
Definitely stay away from VGA---that's old and crappy.
I think DVI and HDMI both have great signals... but new HDMI carries audio too--all in one wire/cable... that is just nice and convenient. I would go with HDMI for everything---if you can. I welcome any serious Dig-iphile to give some input to this post... I'd love to hear any more info. |
Depends on your screen resolution. VGA is an analogue connection, so it will interfere with the on-screen picture in high resolution. HDMI (DVI which is the same) is a digital interface which delivers the image of any resolution "as is".

VGA is old and analog, you dont want this. DVI has a max resolution of 1,920x1,200 unless you are doing dual link, HDMI can do up to 3,820x2,160. I use HDMI pretty much everywhere now days.
