wordpress 3.8.1 MU - problem, need help!
I have install wordpress 3.8.1 Mu
But on my hostagator am having problem to enable DNS wildcard I did put *.mydomain.com and it should work. support told me that it needs time to propagate but am just not sure. It was more then few hours. Anyone having any idea? :helpme |
Try your site from another computer - It could just be cached...
Or if you post a subdomain link I can see if its working..... |
If you're only using the install for sites you create, you can just create the full subdomain for that install in the dns.

Let me tell you am not having a great feeling about this, as far as i know this thing should work in like 15 min or so. This is like they must do some internal setups manually without me knowing! |
How do you know it is not working? Did you try to create a new blog on a sub yet?
|
Of course i did, that's the first thing i did?
Guy from support was on it like 20min and they couldn't fix it or should i say enable it. So they told me to wait..... |
What happened when it didn't work? Error message or what?

2 things need to be done, you add the * wildcard via your dns provider, or domain company, whoever hosts the dns.
then apache needs to add the *.domain.com entry, by default its not added. |
If you put in a subdomain that does not exist and it goes to the main page then the wildcard is working and its a WPMU setup issue...
If not then you will have to wait..... |
I double check *.mydomain.com and its pointing right.
This thing must be on their end. |

propagate. Thank you guys anyhow. |
