    QR Codes have a brand new life in the UK

    I have often liked QR Codes and thought they may become big.

    But while I see (or did see) them on many adverts, Iam not sure they took off, and now I see them less and less.

    That was untill they have stated in the UK that they will be on everyones energy bills.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-26509405

    This is a game changer as it will get many many many people using them in the UK.

    So mabe this could be a new re-birth of the qr code.

    And why should the porn world love qr codes?

    Simple:

    Have a qr code on your pics and it can point to your mobile phone version of the site.

    So how about this for an idea. Provide your affiliates with there affiliate code auto genertated in the pics you let them use.

    Surly this would not be difficult for somone to make somthing so the code can be generated automaticly for affiliates.

    With url shortening and have each pic have a different tracking code, you can see also which pics works best.

    Just think about it on such at tublr. Often they shut accounts that have affiliate links, but if the qr affiliate code is in the pic, then it cannot (I belive) be detected. And so account not closed.

    Although i agree QR's are cool sort of, i never understood why on earth anybody would scan a QR from a picture or website, unless you mean the pics are in print ads.

    Scanning QR from paper -> superhandy
    Scanning QR from website -> clueless in most cases

    Of course, that is just my opinion

      that's brilliant divvy!

      so rather than that stupid, old fashioned idea of CLICKING on an image, you're proposing putting QR codes on every image, then getting people to get their phone out, download a QR scanning app, scan the QR code on their screen and then be sent to a site. On their phone.

      Awesome and will surely take off!

          I have in the past played with QR Codes online in porn.

          One trick I did was place a QR code on a non nude pic and said scan to see me nude.

          This I found worked very well.

          It sent many to the mobile version of a paysite I promoted and got some sales.

          But that was the early days of smart phones (I was using an old microsoft mobile phone then).

          I suspect today the results would even be better.

          By the way I came across this handy bit of code for auto tranfer of your site to a mobile version. It seems to do the job.

          <script type="text/javascript">
          <!--
          if (screen.width <= 699) {
          document.location = "mobile.htm";
          }
          //-->
          </script>

          Or to go to a new site:

          <script type="text/javascript">
          <!--
          if (screen.width <= 699) {
          document.location = "http://www.mobilesiteofpornxxxx.com";
          }
          //-->
          </script>

            Curiosity.

            Think this way.

            Put a QR code on a sexy model. And make it clear that if you scan the qr code you will see her on your mobile, say a vid.

            Its a great way to get your promo vid on many mobiles.

            Or am mp3 of her chatting.

            Or simply her bit coin address.

            One can be very creative.

            The big problem is simply people not knowing what qr codes are.

            But this thing in the uk will change that.

              I was referring solely to Divvy's 'idea' of making people scan a QR code on an image on a website rather than the crazy idea of just clicking on an image.

                One option is a qr code on a t-shirt.

                Then try to get your model on tv or pics taken of her.

                I often see people take models to places and people take pics and upload them to the web. So just think if they upload pics with the qr code on it. Free advertising.

                  You're right, of course. It is beyond idiotic to suggest putting a QR code on an image online.

                    A few months ago I suggested to a client to make a sexy vid for you tube (non nude) and at the start and end to add a qr code to his mobile porn site.

                    He has had a huge increase in hits to his mobile site due to this (we used a url shorter that records hits).

                    I would post it, but one suspects DamianJ will harass my client. So I hope you understand why I shall not post a link to it. Its a shame.

                          QR codes are on everything here in Japan.

                          They are used on bills, adverts (online and in shop windows), mobile sites (More iphones in use than desktops that's for sure.

                          Their use and application to daily life seems to be growing here as well.

                            yes

                            in japan they are used a lot.

                            in the uk, while you do see them, i have a feeling at the moment many do not get what they are.

                            i think this is one of the best qr code uses in south k

                              The people who would use a QR scanner probably don't get the bill. Just a thought. It is a way to get people from print or the real world to your website but most people can do that themselves. I thought they were cool and a good idea but I haven't had a QR scanner on my iphone in years and never missed it.
