What's the real reason Kevin Trudeau is going to jail?

After seeing this video and how he speaks out about the new police state Obama has created get's sentenced to 10 years in prison! I feel his exposing and speaking out about the US government is the real reason why he's going to prison.

Always thought he was a fraud, and just now read his wiki.
Judging by your gullibility and his smooth speech I can see why he did so well.

Yep. This. The guy is a con and a crook. He's already done time in the past for past schemes. That's the reason he got 10 years. He never learned his lesson and basically thumbed his nose at the courts and the law. Like Obama or the government gives a flying shit about Kevin Trudeau :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Wake up. :2 cents:

Magnetron 03-18-2014 04:49 AM

Ummm .... yeah .....

Knew someone who lost a ton of money in the 90s on his pyramid vitamins scheme.

Harmon 03-18-2014 04:56 AM

Actually, after reading his wikipedia article, this mother fucker is lucky he didn't get even MORE time than 10 years

Here it is if you'd like to read it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_T...al_proceedings

Spudstr 03-18-2014 05:27 AM

What a complete load of crap. I have followed this case for several years and what the government did was fucked up. The FTC was the first to get him and try to fine him 39M dollars.

What "fraud" they charged him with was that he said his diet was "easy". That was the deceitful thing he said? What ridiculous BS. The government just wants his money and he was a massive target. When they didn't get it, then the criminal charges came. Easy to get a jury of jealous envious people that have been taught to hate the successful in today's society.

I've been watching this happen more and more often lately.

Trudeau is where he belongs. In prison. Stealing people's credit cards, identities, etc? Lock that cock sucker up.

I still think he got off easy with only 10 years in the clink.

On the plus side, I won't have to wake up at 3 am and see his bullshit on every channel. :2 cents:

Yes. Exactly.

Harmon, and Black Crayon, Obviously it should not be legal to con people out of their money, but I'm telling you to not be so quick to believe the charges that are being brought against a lot of people these days. They will obviously make them sound as bad as possible, but that doesn't make it true.

I have watched so many people that are guilty of nothing but having a lot of money, being shaken down by the government, because the prosecutors can now freeze assets before even figuring out what to charge someone with, then get them to co-operate with whatever they decide to come up with later out of fear of losing everything, and being unable to afford to hire lawyers since their accounts are frozen. Asset forfeiture has become the new source of government funding.

Do some research on this stuff guys. For example, take a look at what this group is fighting against: https://www.ij.org/part-i-policing-for-profit-2

:2 cents:

P.S. Harmon, why the personal insult? Did my having a differing opinion offend you that much?

Oh God you are pathetic. Get over your POLICE STATE crap. The guy was scum through and through. Period. He plead GUILTY. Really? Because defending yourself is better than two years in prison?

Nigga please. I'm not saying that the FTC fine wasn't harsh. I'm saying he's a crook that took a system and manipulated it to the point that he benefited from it and he broke the law. He thought he was bullet proof. He's not.

Like it or lump it, when the court tells you to do something? You do it... or face the consequences. Let's just hope that our Lord, Savior as well as they guy you stood up for in the lunch line (Kevin Trudeau) is doing this today and lubing up his asshole...

i have noticed much the same, different scenarios through online contacts, and even RL situations with old family members 'getting the talk to' because they zigged with a tax thing rather than zagging

it's concerning as i 'know it's coming', but can do little to prevent it

Remember that the government can afford to go after big money all it wants to, while freezing the assets of any private citizen if they wish. About 6 years ago, I once ran into a special agent for the Feds stationed in the Caribbean, at a football party and we ended up having a long conversation. Since he knew I was in payment processing, he gave me his card, and told me to call him if I ever heard of something even potentially fishy that involved big money, because, as he said, "we like big money". He also told me how I could get a 15% cut of any asset seizures that resulted from the tip, and how they can use civil forfeiture to grab everything without even filing charges. He was bragging about it. It was very very creepy.

We can agree to disagree, but why the personal insults? Did I insult you somehow? Why get so offended about this that you have to call me names?

I have only read a little bit, but it's my understanding that the real reason he got in so much trouble is because he kept avoiding, ignoring, and laughing off fines and other court ordered responsibilities, not so much the con of it being "easy." The "easy" thing is BS, but if he really put off everything for decades, then he can't go crying about it being unfair.

Yes, and that was terrible.

However, it has nothing to do with THIS CASE which he is being sentenced for now. According to the law, each case must be applied on it's own merits, not what you did, and were sentenced for, 20 years ago.

I'm not defending the guy as some kind of angel. He is obviously a scumbag. But what can be done to him, can, and is these days, done to anyone.

Its nothing new, been going on since REAGAN signed the Comprehensive Crime Control Act of 1984. That piece of shit legislation was the first step towards the police state we are now in, the Patriot Act was the icing on the cake.

I absolutely agree. I really liked Reagan, but when that act was signed I warned everyone that it was VERY dangerous and it would move, from being used on drug dealers, swiftly on to anyone whose money they wanted to grab.

I'm against the abuse of the asset forfeiture law as much as anyone. But you can't seriously be comparing a thirty plus year old car body type which was appropriate at the time for a police car to a new car model that is now standard issue for many law enforcement agencies and attribute that to the asset forfeiture laws.

What they did was attempt to stop a career criminal from continuing to bilk people out of their money while at the same time, endangering their health.

Uhm... no. You haven't.

You seem to be completely going off the rails in recent times.

If you make your whole life about "government is bad", "government is abusive" and do nothing but seek out information to support that view, obviously you think you "see more and more" evidence to support that view.

However, anyone reading your posts could easily conclude that a healthy distrust of government has been replaced with an unhealthy obsession.

Actually, I have seen it, both in reading, and awareness of things political, as well as through a very large network of personal contacts in both business and government. I have always been very interested in politics, among quite a few subjects, and at the age of 50 now, I have seen a trend in the last 20 years that is very insidious, and accelerating, with government intrusion and abuse.

Having said that, if you knew me better, you would know that I don't make my "whole life about government is bad". I post about it here because it's fun to post here, but frankly my life is filled with my wife and my son, my business, going out on my boat, scuba diving, hanging out with friends, playing guitar, reading, travel, etc.... Is politics and machinations of government a passion of mine? Yes. An all-consuming one? Hardly...

Fair enough.

First though, i'd like to point out that Black Jesus is too busy healing lepers and turning water into wine to bother with seizing property. So be careful with the liberal blasphemy you have uttered.

That said, my point was that you chime in on topics primarily to make the point that authority is bad, government is bad, police are bad etc etc etc. I respect you and your opinions. You are clearly one of the more intelligent people in the biz and I have a lot of respect for the story you shared of your personal history.

However, anyone can say anything is getting worse if that's the prism they see the world through, the prism through which they read information through and the belief they already possess. I can argue alien abductions are getting worse and then said "i read a lot about it, i have a lot of friends who..." etc etc. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have argued in the last 2 decades that racism has never been worse. It's about perspective and bias, not a simple "i am more informed than you" situation.

Kevin Trudeau is a terrible person and a career con artist and criminal. Furthermore, his financial gains (while sitting on a stage set, intentionally made to look like larry kings and convey a sense of newsworthy legitimacy) come at the direct health expense of others. Pretending he is a victim is silly. His legal problems and conflict with the government didnt' start and end with saying "this diet is easy".
