Rechargeable credit card?
I'm going to Mexico for two weeks and don't want to use any of my regular credit cards, have heard too many bad stories. I was thinking that I could get one of those rechargeable credit cards and then fill it up as needed throughout the trip, but have no idea how these work or where to even get one.

Amex Serve or Google Wallet.
You can have a Google Wallet card sent within 5 days. That's all mine too. Amex Serve you can pick up at any drug store. I use both of these and now avoid Paypal at all costs. |
I would be concerned about the Amex not being accepted in enough places. Does Visa have a similar card?

Never used one but I think Green Dot is one of the bigger ones. Pick em up at Walmart https://www.greendot.com/greendot
I think most large branch banks offer them now too. You may be able to get one through your bank. I'd check that out first. |
Any credit card is fine. Just don't use a debit card. And use cash for shit like bars etc

Got those cards everywhere, bank, walgreens, walmart etc... Guess ya just gotta compare the fee chart on them for service fees if ya give a shit. I'd probably see what the bank has first as most sell some form of prepaid visa/mastercard. Personally I've never used one as I just use credit cards, debit card and paypal card but I haven't traveled anywhere where risk could be a factor.
