Yes, I know, I was warned, but they did used to be decent before they got taken over

I moved my stuff to stablepages. Have not had any issues so far. They even moved all of my sites for free.

What are the prices like for VPS?

There's no excuse to use cheap shared hosting when there are offerings like Digital Ocean.

Is it your hosting company? I'm currently on VPS with Hostgator paying just over $100 per month

You can get a dedicated server for less than $100 per month with 200 Mbps bandwidth. Why would you have a VPS at that cost ?

I had a reseller account with Hostgator for the last 2 years. All-of-a-sudden I started getting tickets saying CPU usage was high and I needed to use a cache for my Wordpress sites. I did that and of course 24 hours later after reviewing account with their infinite wisdom, it would be fixed. Then a few days later they'd open another ticket and tell me that getting their $179 dedicated server was the only option. I went to Digital Ocean and moved all my accounts there and it's simply the best. Hostgator sucks. When I gave them a scathing review they said they were so sorry and offered 20% off. Hell with them.

Dunno why anyone every uses Shared Hosting plans anymore. Sounds like some of you guys just need to pay a tad more for managed hosting.
