President Bush has turned out to be

...a pretty good artist and is opening a gallery of his paintings in April.

theking 03-08-2014 06:27 PM

In addition he apparently is doing some good work in Africa.

Since leaving office the former president and his wife, Laura, have continued to stay active in global health issues in Africa, now taking on cancer. The George W. Bush Institute has launched the Pink Ribbon Red Ribbon initiative to try and bring together both public and private investment to fight cervical and breast cancer in Africa and Latin America. The couple launched the program on a visit to Zambia and Bostwana in July of last year.

Now move along troll.

Any monkey who can throw shit at a canvas can be considered an artist.

Not in my opinion and the President is not doing that style of painting anyhow.

Creatine 03-08-2014 07:38 PM

He makes "oil" paintings.

Former president Bush is the one that called Africa a nation, but I'm a troll?

Yeah whatever.

I actually thought you were trying to entrap me...but none the less I have not known of anyone in my lifetime that has not mis-spoke at one time or another...including every President in my lifetime.

I can't comment intelligently on his paintings. I have seen a few and they weren't impressive to me, but I would want to see more before I decided if I liked them or not.

That said, there is no denying what Bush has done for Africa. I thought he was mostly a terrible president, but his administration did more to help poverty and AIDS in Africa than any other president before him.

And he is still deeply involved and doing good works in Africa. As for his paintings...they are of animals and human portraits...unless he has added something new for his gallery opening...and they show quite a talent in my opinion. They are not something I would buy but then I am not into buying any kind of art.

Your art critique needs some artistic background knowledge and a context.
There is a difference between a brilliant artist considered mentally disturbed by dumbed down serfs, and a truly mentally disturbed self proclaimed artist.
Being considered 'good' by a dumbed down serf does not make an artist, an artist at all.
If it was the topic of extreme controversy, or debate of it's brilliance or technique which you would never venture into, then Bush might be an artist but you know that won't happen.

lol @ Bush art... It keeps you dumbed down safe.

Is he better or worse than Hitler was at painting? Bush has no intellect so nobody is going to be interested in his "art".

Where does one start?

Bush inherited the largest surplus in American history and left office with the largest deficit. His overall record of job creation, personal income and stock market performance was the worst since the Hoover presidency.

Bush led the U.S. into war with Iraq on incorrect/fabricated intelligence reports. There were no weapons of mass destruction, no ?mushroom cloud? on the horizon and no al Qaeda tie to Saddam Hussein.

Anti-terrorism tactics employed by the Bush administration damaged U.S. standing in the world. Most infamously - Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where terrorism suspects were held without charges. ?Enhanced interrogation? techniques ? called torture by most critics ? scarred the United States? reputation around the world.

As for war profiteering - it's not difficult to find. Google Bush/Carlyle Group/Neil Bush/New Bridges Strategies/Bin Laden Group.

Marvin and Jeb Bush are also highly successful members of the family war profiteering team. Marvin is a co-founder and partner in Winston Partners, a private investment firm, and Jeb is an investor in the Winston Capital Fund, which is managed by Marvin.

Winston Partners is part of the Chatterjee Group, which owned 5.5 million shares in a company called Sybase in 2001, a firm that had contracts worth $2.9 million with the Navy, $1.8 million with the Army and $5.3 million with the Department of Defense. All totaled, the federal procurement database listed the firm?s contracts that year as $14,754,000.

As I said...not hard to find.

I think you're misunderestimating SilentKnight--his first three points are fact-based and well-documented. A couple minutes research on the web will confirm them.
