Experienced Webmasters - Help me.
Ok, for far too long I have been relying / waiting for fuckingoogle to start sending me traffic again.
It seems that this isn't likely to happen anytime soon. So, my question to you fellow adult webmasters is how do I build traffic without the need for search engines? I am doing the social thing but it doesn't seem to be working because the number of hits I get this way is very small. Cheers. |
What are you trying to send hits to exactly? That is probably 90% of the problem right there. It needs to add value. Do that and your Google problems will probably largely go away too.
Youtube can be a good source if done right. As can sites like Tumblr or instagram. Or even the tubes. But you need something there to get people to want to come to your site. |
I have a couple of review sites. 1000 words per review all unique and hand written.
About 100 posts per site. FuckinGoogle took 85% of my traffic since October. I don't see it coming back. |

Some of our best webmasters are review site owners. Keep building up your network anyway you can, social media, blog posts, tumblr and the search engine traffic will grow. You aren't the only one on the block so you will have to give people something unique a reason to go back to your own review sites. |
Are you being penalized by Googles?

Paysites are hard to sell now. That's a fact, Jack. There is someone who will remain anonymous here and he states he has about 30 paysites and he works a lot with the tubes and tries to get affiliates. Well with all his work he says he does about one sale a day per paysite. If the damn paysite who is pushing their videos in front of millions of people on tubes can only manage one sale a day then what does that say for an affiliate's chances of making meaningful income? Do you think you are going to rank #1 on Google and somehow make ten sales a day to the same paysite? :1orglaugh It's only worth chasing if you already have the traffic. He doesn't. |

The bottom line is he needs good traffic to get conversions with a review site. You don't just build the review site and cash the checks. He lost most of his traffic from Google and he is asking for other ways. It's kind of hard to do that without Google when all you have is a review site. People want it for free. What your stats say for "Rabbit's Reviews" doesn't really mean shit for him. <shrug> |
Review sites can still do fine. It all depends on WHAT SITES you're pushing via those reviews. I'd recommend focusing on reviewing niche stuff (which aficionados will pay for) rather than vanilla smut (which they won't).
It should be noted that for the OP it's more a traffic issue, he wants to replace the surfers lost by the big G. |

Someone I know recently sold his review network for 110k and I'm building a bunch myself. There's a ton of money in it.. :2 cents: btw, try Google's Webmaster tools and Analytics or whatever tracking you use and find out why the drop happened, then fix it. |
I do fine as far as conversions go. This thread isn't for the discussion of review sites it's for ways of getting traffic without the search engines.
Of course if they send me traffic again in the future great but I don't want to rely on that. |

Also, ranking in the top 5 spots for paysite name is still very doable and not that hard if you know what you're doing. |

1 - Go to facebook, pick a field of interest (lets say sexy chicks with big tits) and create facebook pages, buy some FB ads from other similar groups and post like mad. Get that puppy to 40k + likes 2 - Do roughly the same thing on Twitter, Instragram, etc etc. 3 - Then create a network of free sites with pics and movies featuring sexy girls with big tits. Couple of different domains, different layouts. Basically make them look like they are owned by different people. 4 - Use the communites you built on social platforms to drive traffic to your free sites. 5 - Have each free site spotlight your review site's latest review of the new paysite that has sexy teen girls. Make it a super good review, with video how-to guides on how to signup, what to expect inside the member's area, etc. 6 - Offer on your free sites whatever free content if they tweet/like/share your review. Seo traffic "should" come in slowly as you're creating your own hype over a product. That's one way of doing it. There are many many others. Its all about testing and seeing what works best for you. Some of your efforts will fail, others will succeed. If you strictly want to go the seo route, then that's a totally different strat which I won't share :) |
Thanks NoWhErE. Sounds like a shit load of work ahead then huh.

Stand on a busy street corner with a chicken suit and a big sign with your website on it.

Webmasters have become obsessed with "adding value" ever since Google started using that phrase. I think it's misdirection, and that Google actually pushes surfers towards tubes because they're compatible with Google's own web branding :2 cents: |

Paysites still make money but you have to be better at selling them than what worked 5 years ago. |

Put that way there's a big difference and my statement doesn't make much sense then. I figured if 1 persone was putting the same amount of effort into 30 sites and only generating 1 sale each, he would need to go back to the drawing board. What you just described makes complete sense. |
there are a lot of places to buy traffic if you can figure out how to convert it you don't have to rely on search engines.
