Anyone playing Battlefield 4?

I stopped playing COD after MW3 and changed to Battlefield 3. So I was pumped when 4 came out. Despite the game being utterly broken and released before it was ready, it's a pretty decent game.

bronco67 03-04-2014 08:58 PM

Done played that shit months ago. I remember it being short, but good.

the campaign part was good, but yeah short. I was talking more about the multiplayer though.

I don't have BF4 yet. Aren't the bugs worked out by now?

BFBC2 is my favorite shooter.

Sigh... It has gotten a little better overall, but there are still maps in multiplayer that seem to freeze for a lot of people (pc's & console) mid game, the netcode (hit detection) is all messed up, every time a new map starts there is no sound / textures for at least 1-2 minutes. It's definitely better than it was on day one, it could still use quite a bit of work. That being said, it's still a pretty fun game, especially if you have a team of people you know and all work together to own the other team. That's the best thing about the franchise for me, the team aspect. Whereas, COD shooters are all about the run and gun.

Spunky 03-04-2014 09:56 PM

So full of bugs I gave up on it,was unplayable.constant disconnect errors after multiple updates

brassmonkey 03-04-2014 10:03 PM

beat it a few times. playing Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood right now

Rochard 03-04-2014 11:09 PM

I played it for a few months, fun enough, but I'm back to COD 4.

guden 03-04-2014 11:57 PM

i have played it pretty much since it came out, and i have never had problems with disconnects and netcode as many people say. i only tried the multiplayer part, but im still enjoying that - only playing 2 maps though: Locker and metro, with no explosives..

Markul 03-05-2014 12:53 AM

I play and have zero problems. My mate has a ton of problems with crashes and disconnects, netcode and what have you *shrug*

Aidoru 03-05-2014 01:56 AM

No patience for multiplayer I'm terrible
Also people who complain about netcode are also terrible

I purchased basic BF4, but after playing for couple week went back on BF3. I love to play on helis and don't like BF4 helis.

Infantry battles in BF4 way much better (my opinion), but I love Armored Kill and kinda prefer to stay in BF3

Scott McD 03-05-2014 06:36 AM

I say every year i'm gonna change from COD to BF, but i never do.

'Ghosts' is decent, but the whole genre really needs a complete revamp.

Campaign was pretty decent mind you...

bronco67 03-05-2014 07:08 AM

Is there anyone else like me who just can't get involved with the multiplayer anymore? There's thousands of 10 year old kids who will headshot you the moment you peek around a corner, and it also just a huge timesuck. It'll be 2am and I'm like "one more game"...then it's an hour later and I'm still cursing at the screen. I stick with single player these days. I'm in and then I'm out.

sarah-teamcmp 03-05-2014 07:12 AM

I played MW3 into the ground, just picking up ghost. I'm getting used to it, but I still don't think it's anything ground breaking. (Though dogs are fun)

Last time I played a BF game was...BF2 haha. Probably that and unreal tournament would be my all time fav FPS games though. If EA didn't end up with Tribes I imagine that could have made a good series too.

Scott McD 03-05-2014 07:13 AM

Yeah i don't have the same patience these days for online. Getting shot every 5secs has lost it's appeal. After not playing it for weeks, i'll maybe play 4 or 5 online games, and then i'm done again for another few weeks...

stoka 03-05-2014 07:14 AM

i play chess online :thumbsup

skrog 03-05-2014 11:19 AM

I would say wait for Battlefield 5. :thumbsup

It feels like everything moves too fast. I think I could last longer in real combat.

dehash 03-05-2014 01:30 PM

Play smart, stay with your squad and you will stay alive longer than the rest of players.

_Richard_ 03-05-2014 01:31 PM

bought it cause some friends; i believe it still has the memory leak after months

Frank 03-05-2014 02:08 PM

Battlefield 1 was the best.

KickAssJesse 03-05-2014 03:54 PM

yup! been on it for a good few months now :thumbsup:thumbsup

porndotnet 03-24-2014 02:42 PM

Carrier assault doesn't look like a bad game mode. BUT, i just recently logged in after a few weeks without playing, downloaded the last update ( #8 for xbox ) and now my player profile data is corrupted and every time I booted in to the game it told me the data was fucked and I had to redo all my settings, vehicles etc. ( i fixed that part by using cloud storage for xbox to host the profile data ).

It is pretty cool, I like the fast pace of the game. Some people think the bots and that ruin the game, but I think it works pretty well. I would like to see some bigger maps, an actual campaign mode.

Overall though not a bad game, interested to see what expansions they end up doing for it.

winter_ 03-24-2014 10:26 PM

that game needs more work. you can't crawl under truck trailers, the dam won't allow you to hide around it, hit detection is a bit off and i should know as my role as recon - i am not a very skilled player actually battlefield 4 is the only popular first person shooter i own i thought i would buy then try and get better at that kind of game but it is proving difficult.

just today i started the campaign and only got a minute in before i got stuck.

battlefield 4 just gives me something to do rather than being on the street getting in to trouble then being thrown in to a cell amongst corrupt police. :1orglaugh
