Two or more word domains: With or without a dash "-"?
Which option do you prefer, when registering a doman containing two or more words? Do you go for both variants?
What are the advantages/disadvantes or both variants? thisismydomain.123 or this-is-my-domain.123 ? |
If you can get the one without hyphen, get it.

Doesn't matter for seo. The one without dashes will get more typins tho. I use both cause I don't be giving no fucks.

I prefer to get names without a dash. I think it just easier for people to type in.

Without the dash is more valuable.

dashes are for low priority sites, poor people, or weak sauces.
If you can't get a good domain name without a dash for a website you really care about, think about another one or just forget it. A dash might be useful to secure your own domain names though. A memorable domain is my top priority for traffic retention, word-of-mouth traffic and SEO traffic. Memorability and out-of-the-web traffic is often forgotten, but it's a big part of the picture. Which one would you click first and remember the most: - tugjobs.com - tug-jobs.com (*) Do note that tugjobs.com secured that domain name, which is a good move - tugjobvideos.com (*) I didn't plug my own domains, they're examples. |
