So far as I am concerned, Crimea is part of Ukraine. It should remain there. If people in Crimea are unhappy about this, they can leave. Clearly it hasn't been that much of an issue since 1954; I'm not sure why it's so urgent now.
At the same time, I don't see any point in trying to keep Crimea part of Ukraine. If they are unhappy being part of Ukraine they will continue to be unhappy, and be more of a problem than an asset.
Either way, this wouldn't effect the natural gas pipelines in Ukraine (they don't go through Crimea), and either way both Russia and Ukraine would still have ocean access. Russia doesn't need a Naval base in Crimea - Russia already has coastline on the black sea without Crimea.

Problem is "double standards"....
They did allow Albanians from Kosovo (Serbia) to separate...
US and EU had interests there...
They should allow to Serbians in Bosnia or Russians in Ukraine etc etc
I mean , don't get me wrong, i really don't give a shit about this. I hope we can all be one calm place without bombs and shit... But it is in human nature to split blood :(
And all fucking evil comes from white man and mostly europe:)
P.S
I heard that citizens of Texas also want to separate ? You think US would allow that?:)
