tungsten light vs led light for video

Since led light kit start to get cheaper to buy now I plan to move from tungsten. My studio is not really huge and summer is coming :)

they give good result? I did try fluo compact light but I dont like the cold feel they give.

I did found this really cheap kit to try but I'am not sure if 500 led = 500 500 watts tungsten in lumen

it depends on the color temperature of your LEDs...some give off an unnatural light completely it makes the models look like they are under neon lights or in a tan bed...on the other hand some are perfect for diffuse light but I do not use boxes like you do, I use self adhesive LED strips...cheap as dirt and cut and paste...

some put out at 4100 which is green or at 4800 which is a bit green as well... custom WB fix most issues ...

You can get 5500 K daylight bulbs in LED or Compact Flo
Most decent cameras have daylight setting or you can even dial it in to 5500K

This is best for porn because you can mix it with daylight without looking blue, green, or orange. I would go with flo lights because they are easy and inexpensive.

The LEDs you posted are 5500 degrees kelvin which are good for mixing with daylight. The gel that they come with are for matching to Tungsten which is 2700-3200 Kelvin

Either way you have to white balance your camera. Understanding color temp will make your videos colors more accurate.

I think compact flouros are the most economical for your purpose, just make sure the bulbs you use are a high CRI rating like 90 and above.

Here is a great article for those that need to understand CRI better.

Also one of these comes in handy for checking your colors and color correcting in post use it as slate at the beginning of your videos and photo sets.
