Huh? The second a site is done, submit it to DMOZ and then to Google. Google will probably find it anyway but it doesn't hurt to submit it. A DMOZ listing could take months to get, if at all.

      1) DMOZ
      2) Yahoo Paid Inclusion (target a good keyword for this since it's $600/yr)
      3) Submit to Google. If you get listed in DMOZ/Yahoo you should have a PR of 3 or 4 already.

doesn't Yahoo bring up Google results anyway?

Being listed in the Yahoo directory is the goal, that gives you a PR boost of +2 alone. That's what justifies the $600 cost. By getting that PR boost you'll get a bit higher on Google which is the ultimate goal. And Yahoo combines a mix of its own directory, google and overture listings, not just google.

Overture is just a supplement to Yahoo's income. It has no effect on PR.
