Our government has a secret email system?
Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has been using a "secret email system"
Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker is claiming that the release of a huge volume of internal documents conveyed via a secret e-mail system is ?old news.? He claims the investigation and court case have been decided and so it should be of no interest to anyone. According to the breaking Associated Press (AP) story, six former associates and aides of Walker who were convicted had been investigated for executing campaign work while they should have been conducting official Milwaukee County business. If that's not bad enough, it seems half of his staff has recently been convicted, but of course he knows nothing about it. Walker has for the last two years denied any wrong-doing with respect to campaign activity despite three former aides being convicted of using the secret e-mail system that he is calling ?old news.? The three aides were among the six convicted. Our government is so fucked up. http://guardianlv.com/2014/02/walker...stem-old-news/ |
So some people were doing work on one thing while they should have been doing another?..
Not exactly earth shattering - Or am I missing something?.... |

It doesn't make sense..... |
He can downplay it, but this scandal ruins his political aspirations on the national level.

His staff was secretly mining for Bitcoins until they pushed through the new mining regulations making it legal to do so on state owned computers.

Loads of big companies use them, I had an NHS intranet email when I worked for them. |

The government should use Gmail like everyone else :upsidedow |
I was serious when I replied above about it being gmail, they used unofficial gmail and yahoo email accounts to communicate. That's the secret email "system".

How is that a surprise. Lots of big companies use their own internal mail systems. I would have expected especially governments to do that too.

Isn't this the guy Minte was raving about? |
LOL. Are we really talking about Gmail, Yahoo, and intranet?
Ahahaha. Have you guys heard about the secret government bathrooms? Yes, it's true, Scott Walker has a private bathroom attached to his office! |

By using undisclosed email, accounts they were breaking the law and likely trying to circumvent public access in order to hide shady shit and under the table deals. This isn't a "simple" mistake, my cousin is a staffer for a very well known congressman and it's something all staffers are certainly made aware of and they know to follow the law. If Walker's staffers were doing this, they certainly knew they were breaking the law and you know damn well they didn't do it on their own. It's very obvious that something like this is just a way for the guys in charge to claim they knew nothing, which of course Scott Walker will claim. He will also be lying it ass off when he says this. The other issue, is staffers are not aloud to do campaign work on the govt's dime. That means they can not do work on the campaign while the tax payers are paying their salaries. This means if he was using staffers to make campaign calls or what ever while they were getting a govt paycheck they were breaking the law. They have to be off the govt's time clock while doing campaign work. They would have to be off the govt clock while doing campaign work. This is for the very obvious reason of not having tax payers funding a sitting candidate's campaign giving him a unfair advantage. |

That's like avoiding the phone in the governor's office and using a burner phone that no one can trace. |
