Great signing, you just got a $7.5M second liner. He's got 20 goals and 21 assists in 60 something games. He has massive back problems that one good body check before the playoffs and poof, you lost that investment.

Don't get me wrong, Nolan is good, but he's not what he used to be. He's on a down slope in his career and he's only going to get more expensive.

And this is where i have to admit that I'm a Habs fan. Yes, my team probably won't make the playoffs, I know. A trade wouldn't help either. I know that too.

But I think the Sens are going to be hard to beat in the east. So will New Jersey.

It was a good trade, but I agree that Nolan is on a downswing in his career. I also think he's inconsistent. Still we can probably get a few good years out of him.

About time Stand Pat made a trade.

The Leafs one day have to start getting younger guys though, instead of trading them all away for older guys.... you can only do that for so long before you end up with a team that's to far over the hill.
