I have seen adidas/nike running shoes in US for 50-60$, that's why I thought it was a steep price.
And yes, brand sneakers' prices in US are probably lowest in the world.

Don't wear gym shoes much, 4-5 year old Jordans in box in closet only worn them just a few times so they will still look brand new in 10 years. Last time I wore an old pair out some black dude was like how ya get those shoes brand new, he knew the brand/model instantly.

Many people made (and are still making) some beer money or more buying shoes in US and selling in other countries :)

Indeed, even buying on ebay and reselling on local craiglist type of sites were(still is) profitable for beer money for some.
