Are porn stars prostitutes?

They are paid to have sex, so does that make them prostitutes?

I suppose it is 2 questions........ legally and morally

I don't know...

CosmicKitten 03-05-2003 07:51 PM

paid to fuck on camera, paid to fuck.

hmm.

kenny 03-05-2003 07:56 PM

The question is, how does the law determind and seperate the acts of street girls from hardcore pornography models. One is legal the other not.

Easton 03-05-2003 07:57 PM

who cares? it's all about the bling-bling...

UnseenWorld 03-05-2003 07:59 PM

Legally, no. Morally, I don't give a shit. Ethically, yes.

That said, I think prostitution needs to be legalized.

galleryseek 03-05-2003 08:02 PM

well theres obviously a slight difference. they're both obviously closely related...

i'd imagine the major distinction between the two is most models who're paid to have sex for porn have a higher sense of superiority when it comes to just straight prostitution... porn models are "contributing" something to a business. whereas prostutes on the street are just fucking for money, and thats it. its a lot less organized and such.

pros·ti·tu·tion ( P ) Pronunciation Key (prst-tshn, -ty-)
n.
The act or practice of engaging in sex acts for hire.

so technically, yes they are prostitutes, lol. but its a tad bit different.

I am in favor of making it legal, but I think the prostitutes should be required by law to have themselves checked out regulary. Some guidelines in order to carry a license. To prevent spreading of STD's.

I would like to know how one act is legal and the other illegal. Both types are having sex in exchange for money.

So I am guessing its only illegal to openly sell your body in public. Maybe that is the legal difference.

Well, isn't that WHY prostitution is legalized in almost every case?

xxxinnovations 03-05-2003 09:17 PM

When you make stills or vids of people having sex, if it is not for the pleasure of anyone present, and if it's done in the making of a creative work (bringing the First Amendment into play), it's a lot more difficult to prosecute than some guy picking up a chick off the street then retiring to a motel room for a BJ.

schilli 03-05-2003 09:51 PM

Not only am I a pimp - I'm also a prostitute!

Kinda like having your cake and eating it to.
