is aol worth it?? it looks cool and not bad for $23 or so a month... any experiences?

The software fucks with computers. I can't back this claim but I think it does. And using it as a browser blows. It does stupid things when opening windows.

Get netzero or juno whatever their fuckin name is now, its like 10$ a month if you want dialup service.

Why pay $23 for AOL when you can get NetZero for $9?

Seriously though, go for broadband if its available in your area.

If you take your job as an adult webmasters even slightly serious you can't go without AOL!
Don't fool yourself and get an AOL account today!

i'm assuming you mean to use them to host your free movie clips so you can hotlink your own ISP webspace from them when submitting to MGPs, right? :winkwink:

i already got broadband with optimum online.. i got a new laptop and i'll be moving around a lot... so i wana be able to dial in with aol when i go to hotels,etc

Just thought aol had the most reliable network...

AOL is good to have when you're bored... I use it as my personal email from family
$23 really isn't much money so I don't know why you'd debate it against something else

I have a copy of AOL for that reason, alot of networks. It worth having for a few reasons. But compared to other software it blows in general.

If you have broadband AOL is only $14 a month.

AOL is very handy if your travel abroad a lot. Much better ways to connect the Internet for general home use.

the only thing aol is good for is the member directory.

bleh. i would go without internet access as opposed to dial-up, except in your case.

here's what i suggest.

it is presumable that your broadband is at least moderately decent (read: adsl 384k or faster). get an extra phoneline at the house, and set up a gateway. then just call your house and dial-in to your setup from there! yeah baby!

fuck aol.

aol is actually pretty cool if you have broadband. I can see why surfers that don't know how to use search engines effectively (96% of them) think there is no other way to access the internet.

If you have a choice I would anti up another $20 and get the broadband through your cable provider. http://www.getconnected.com

No adult webmaster should go without broadband. No way no how!

I just logged into my AOL account for the first time in a few days, and noticed that they have a bit popup touting the fact that they blocked 1 billion spam attempts to their servers in 1 day. That's a pretty amazing number any way you look at it.
