Starting an adult page on Facebook - tips?
So for my vintage erotica site I decided to try launching a FB page, wondering if any of y'all still maintain one and if it's even worth it these days.
I'm not looking for direct sales from it by any means, but have had decent success branding & networking through some mainstream-ish channels in the past. The problem is on FB it's a fine line on both what's permitted by the admins, and also presenting something that users feel alright being publicly associated with. As it stands, the plan is to share non-nude photos and to offer deals/contests to keep visitors engaged - giving away subscriptions or vintage photo print reproductions, promoting specials, etc. First task is to build a follower base, any tips would be welcome. I'm guessing the official FB promo ads are out due to the risque topic (please correct me there if I'm wrong). Am gathering other adult/pinup/retro oriented pages to follow (and later comment on), but these aren't always easy to find and anyhow it seems like a sloooow way to pick up followers... |
Don't do it. You'll put in hours and hours of work getting followers and likes, only to wake up one morning and realize that some 19 year old cunt with a delete button that works for Zuckerberg had a hair across her ass because she got into a fight with her geek ass boyfriend and deleted your shit.

Start a page, get some free likes from here http://admf.cc/?4J9LAQK to make it look like an actual page and not all empty space, than try to setup a fb ad and target people. If they accept your ad your page should be safe if you dont post nude pics.If they decline your ad, your page will probably get banned in the future..

Yes, I can tell you by myself. I built over 40k facebook page, and this page was deleted because few (3) reports, so this means few people will report your link/page and your page is over! I do not recommend this, I even tried not upload pics but only links to post but even people reported them! Better check others social media like twitter, thumblr, which accept adult content. |

well do that only and the followers will come over time, get your page title to contain the best keywords for your type of industry and that's it, post every day a bit of content, give some subscriptions, contests personally this how i did, i don t have tens of thousands of likes but i have enough, which are at least legit, not bought by every means |
Thanks... and yeah Harmon & CNHD, I assumed that might be the case. I'm still on the fence. Seems odd to me though, you have sites like Suicide Girls on there who have hundreds of thousands of followers and whose posts of scantily clad girls get thousands of likes/comments in 30 minutes, yet they've got no problem keeping their account...

You can pretty easy get followers at the beginning on thumblr and twitter... |
no nipples, no bare ass, no links to adult sites.

Facebook traffic is the best shit ever. Page will eventually get deleted, though. I had a page directly linking to porn site in page description with only 1 single post saying something like "Hello! We have joined facebook!" or whatever. Post did not even have a link! Link was only on page description. It had over 120k likes and made fucking lots of sales and all that but the account I created it with was blocked, so I could not post on or administrate the page. It got so much spam on that only post mentioned above that I had to create another account to report the page myself. Stupid spamers... I can do without this traffic but they won't have a golden page to spam with their shit. Btw, if you use twitter, give twitter cards a try.

Don't waste your time man it will be deleted sooner or later.

For facebook, you could probably get away with linking to your sites through another site like Pearltrees.
Give Pinterest a try. Now that they have begun allowing some artistic nude photography that falls within their extremely rigid guidelines, Pandora's Box has been opened. It is becoming inundated with photo nudes that pinners consider artistic. Porn still gets deleted, too much porn will get your account terminated. Based on experience, crotch shots will get deleted and you will be notified of the deletions via email. It will ask you to remove anything else that violates their guidelines. Included will be a warning that your account may get terminated, perhaps if you are a chronic offender. If you do get an account terminated/deleted, you can start another without any hassles. My site is listed under my icon as verified, which involves a little snippet of code. Now I have to check my mail to see how many warnings I've gotten. |

Go with tumblr. They're pretty good for adult content. You can join my blog if you want HERE.

Yeah, I started a Pinterest account a while back but the response was in dribs & drabs and not really worth the effort to reach my 30 followers. I'm guessing it was because they'd just started allowing nudity so there weren't really a ton of people seeking that stuff out. If anyone's found it worth their while, please do share, but I've given it up for now.
Tumblr I've had very good results with. Should reach 2000 organic followers in the next week or so, productive traffic, and sometimes my image posts get picked up by one of the larger blogs and reposts snowball. No issues with content censorship either. Twitter I've never bothered with. Maybe that should change. Youtube I had some good results, but it's like FB - one or two reports and your video gets cut, despite getting otherwise great feedback, plus being non-nude and not even really all that sexual (I've posted PG rated burlesque & pin-up stuff). Zealotry, how on earth did you get 120k FB likes and actual sales from a single post like that? There a loophole I'm missing? We'll see how FB goes. I'm not holding my breath. Did just sign up for a targeted ad campaign since it's on a day-to-day basis a la Adwords. We'll see if they even approve it. |
Welp, my FB promo ad got rejected despite being pretty tame and only targeted at users who "liked" topics such as "erotica" and "nude photography" etc. Not that I'm surprised.
Also I noticed when clicking on the page's link to my actual website, FB redirects to a page that says "Facebook thinks this site may be unsafe. If you're not familiar with it, please provide feedback marking it as Spam." LOL. So what's the deal FB, get it straight, are you saying it's got a virus or that it's spam?? Looks like this experiment's going to end before it gets off the ground... :error |

If that doesn't spell FB making sure rejected advertisers NEVER get exposure on FB then I don't know what else does. How Chinese-gubbermint of them |

Is very confusing, it's a lot of hassle to manage and maintain an adult Facebook page and getting banned for a stupid thing like half of nipple or even for pictures that you can't see nothing at all but clothes.
However they are generating pages like this ones: https://www.facebook.com/pages/PornT...9335909096638# https://www.facebook.com/pages/Porn-...84769394936100 So if so many people are interested, obviously are more than this, why make a drama out of it? |
What i hate the most is google plus, they ban you immediately even if you don t post any links and picture with girls, with their summary clothes on, many fucking idiots there who report your page on daily basis.
I have so much hate on google plus that i sweared in one day i will make my own social network and invite everyone from here to finally have a place where you will not leave with the fear that every day your hard work may vanish in an instant  Quote:

It's at 1985 followers today, not that I really pay close attention but the 2k will be a nice little landmark :upsidedow |
I heard tumblr was pretty good for adult traffic but then they removed adult from their search listings. Is it still worth it?
|
try vine.co or instagram
but I guess this is another story :) |
