How much bandwidth are you pushing? Might be worth hiring someone with the knowledge to make you your own CDN.

MrGusMuller 02-06-2014 02:25 AM

I'm made a small blog post about how to choose the right CDN...
might be usefull...

http://blog.deerecms.com/techy/how-t...t-cdn-for-you/

btw, I would try to keep your members content out of the CDN....
Once in the CDN, always in the CDN.

We are thinking to have MaxCDN but not decided yet. Will it worth to have CDN?...

nice article,
but you should add more details like how many edge /POPs each cdn provider has

Anyone using BitGravity?

Do the right thing and just sign up for Amazon's CDN CloudFront: http://aws.amazon.com/cloudfront/

Don't waste your time looking at bullshit services or taking advice from randoms. Just go with the best and be done with it...

Edit: Figured my post might be taken the wrong way and people would then start to argue whether or not they thought CloudFront was the "best". And, so I wanted to add - if that's what the takeaway you got from my post you didn't get my point.

Check out this list of content delivery network companies.

Some of them are unreachable for small firms like akamai and edgecast. But edgecast can be contracted through speedyrails for a small fee every month you pay as you go.

You can check them out here:

https://www.speedyrails.com/cdn

And edgecast have Pop's all over the world so compared with Maxcdn for instance they are better.

I would try edgecast through speedyrails, if you don't enjoy the service you can always stop using them.

DraX 02-06-2014 08:31 AM

Edgecast have following POP's last time checked:

32 total on all continents except middle east

Maxcdn has:

2 Locations in europe and 8 in north america.

I just checked they have 1 new POP in singapore, so that's 1 in asia as well.

I do still recommend maxcdn to people cause they are easy to use and have a good cdn interface perfect for new users.

Any of you used MAXCDN with content management system called Elevatedx? Please let me know.

HomerSimpson 02-07-2014 06:12 AM

maxcdn is good... I use them and recommend them...

I have used Amazon CloudFront before but it was way pricier...
