Collecting Emails

How do you collect email addresses from your adult website for future marketing?

I own a few blogs and have a subscribe page on most but of course I never get submissions because why would people give me their email if I give nothing back?

I am not talking about pay sites or forums where you can collect the emails of members as they register, hoping they don't uncheck the box.

I am talking about simple blogs, white labels etc..

How do you collect emails for marketing?

Open up the comments and require an email address to post. You will get a bunch of fakes as it's not a double opt-in but you can build a decent list over time, especially if you have unique content. :2 cents:

Yeah along with a shit load of spam.

I am also wary about using emails that the person hasn't agreed to receive to get emails from. I once did a mailer without consent and got back some really nasty emails.

Feedburner.

My blogs are set up so that you can updates directly via email. You sign up, Feedburner grabs my posts, and emails them out every day. I can't spam them beacuse it's all run by feedburner and I don't have access to their info, but time I update the blog they've signed up for... They get an email. It's a great system really.

I think Google bought them.

Isn't it illegal spam? They did not agree to signup for any mailing list by commenting..

Pic-of-the-day, "learn more" offers, "notify me when" offers, etc.
