You know, I can play pretty much anything you throw at me, but I cant seem to get into Slash's groove. He plays differently, approaches it differently. Izzy's backing tracks.. NO PROB, gibby's.. a joke... slash's... can't do anything of his past spaghetti incident haha

Well, the riff in slither is pretty slick, I did struggle getting the timing down due to the anchor shifts, it moves very fast and quite a bit up& down the fretboard. At least for me.

But it's fucking rocking so it kept me interested.

I just have to tackle the lead now, which does seem like he plays it off the typical 12th, 15th & 17th frets. He uses the 13th, 16th more than I've gotten used to, although it's not as gnarly fast as I was expecting, maybe it will be once I get to ~90%+ on that part.

Slash is a good technical guitarist, but I feel that he is weak when it comes to writing melodies. :2 cents:

Trivia: I didn't know until recently that Slash's mom is an African American (interesting because some consider GnR's Axl Rose a racist/racially insensitive).

It's often crossed my mind that Slash has been less than lucky when picking a front man.

I have spent a lot of time listening to Slash play guitar. Used to work for him during the Snakepit 2 era. He never stops playing, always has guitar in hands.

Do you know where the rumor originated or was perpetuated? I've been under the impression his dad was Jewish for quite some time so I can't recall where I gathered it.

I have talked to him about it. He's thinks it started because he has curly hair and his name is Saul so someone somewhere speculated and it became a "fact."

I can see how that could happen. What was your role when yuo worked for him? guitar related?

No, Adam Day was his guitar tech back then. I drove the equipment truck and sold merch.
