the megabus payment system
 

I have been interested in the megabus due to how cheap it is.

Megabus is in many countries. They provide trasport on coaches for very cheap (and free in some cases) price.

For instance if you got a train from Leeds to London in the UK, it would cost you over £80. On megabus you can go for £5.

They have an interesting payment system.

On quit days (wed) tickets are £5 while other days it may be £10 or more.

However I chatted to a chap while I was trying one out and he told me that if a bus gets popular the ticket price goes up automaticly. So the first person may pay £1 while the 30 person may pay £40. Its 100 online payment. You get a membership number and show it on getting on the bus.

He said if they get 16 people or more then its a profit.

Unlike other coach firms that may have 3 or 4 stops, the megabus stops far more places.

I gave it a go and it was great fun. I used it as I bought a new van, it was a bargain but it was 230 miles from me. But for £5 it was a cheap way to pick it up. By train it would have been about £150.

Anyway why do I tell you this?

I say it as maybe this model could be used for other businesses. Such as porn.

In other words rather than having a fixed price 24/7, your price changes automatically. For instance during peak sales your price goes up. And when sales are slow your price automatically goes down. Or maybe it could increase on a per affiliate method. So if a affiliate send you lots of sales the price increases just for him/her so the affiliate (as well as you) makes more cash and as such is encouraged to send more hits.
