Thoughts on Memory Foam Mattresses

Mine arrives tomorrow. Do you sleep on one? Likes? Dislikes?

SmutHammer 01-23-2014 04:46 PM

They are the best. Like any bed, It will take a few night to get used to sleeping on it.

I had a boyfriend with a Tempurpedic years ago. It was great for naps but I never slept that great though the night.

I like mine, it's like 8 or 9 inches thick, forget the brand, but it wasn't the Tempurpedic one.

I freaked out when it came, it was only like 1 inch thick rolled up in a vacuum sealed bag in a box about 1' square x 6' long.

When you open it up and unroll it, it "grows" to size, lol.

It has good support and fills in to your contour nicely. No pressure points.

I have one and love it, however, be wary when you buy one and shop around. Some of them supposedly are very hot to sleep on. If you are someone who easily gets too warm when you sleep make sure you get one that is cool.

On Amazon they have a ton of them with reviews and people usually mention if they sleep hot or not.

Hell no!

I don't want a mattress that remembers that I'm a fat fucker!

i would go through a mattress like water. For years i slept in my recliner. Went out and bought a higher end sleep number bed. Now i sleep like a baby. Never had any luck with a memory foam mattress.....

_Richard_ 01-23-2014 05:39 PM

it doesn't breathe as well

hope it's not warm where you are

If your thermostat is set to 63 F or lower, it hardens into a rock.

SBJ 01-23-2014 06:17 PM

I love my memory foam bed. I would not buy anything other than it unless I tried out maybe a sleep number bed.

I guess the real question is why would you set your thermostat that low? :1orglaugh fuck I'd freeze my balls off at that temp

I've got the foam pillows but regular mattress, I don't sleep a lot and honestly when I'm tired I pass the fuck out, I could sleep on a couch, car, floor, fully clothed etc...

bronco67 01-23-2014 08:24 PM

I thought about getting one, but I'm afraid chemicals will constantly attack my cells while I'm sleeping.

Spunky 01-23-2014 10:17 PM

I find them too damn hot, constantly sweating..had to get rid of mine

cosis 01-23-2014 10:18 PM

I have one, mine isn't very thick though. I am ready to toss it.

Scott McD 01-24-2014 01:16 AM

Took me a couple of weeks to get a decent night sleep on it at first. It's fine now though. Apart from the heat in the Summer. It's like sleeping on a radiator...

John-ACWM 01-24-2014 01:45 AM

Didn't know about the sleep number bed but seems interesting.

CurrentlySober 01-24-2014 01:56 AM

I love mine, but is a half and half. Still an actual Tempurpedic, but the top half is foam, and the bottom half is like another type of foam, but ventilated.

This enables air to ender and heat to dispel I love it :)

freecartoonporn 01-24-2014 04:09 AM

Emissions from memory foam mattresses may directly cause more respiratory irritation than other mattresses

seeandsee 01-24-2014 07:26 AM

I know people that using it, and they say it's good for sleep

Mediamix 01-24-2014 08:13 AM

Now we are talking about mattresses on GFY? Ask the whores.. They got the most experience with mattresses.

PR_Glen 01-24-2014 08:16 AM

can't stand them, too soft. I'd sleep better on a concrete floor..and have.. hehe

pornguy 01-24-2014 08:19 AM

We bought a full matress one from a friend when she was moving. More to help her out than anything and I dont like it. We are going to toss it get a nice sealy matress and then one of the add on toppers like mentioned above. My son has that set up and its great.

Choopa_Pardo 01-24-2014 08:28 AM

They hold too much heat for me. I sleep 'hot' if you will, so when I have slept in them I wake up soaked, stuck to the top sheet. incredibly comfortable though.

srockhard 01-24-2014 01:32 PM

Thanks for all the feedback. Looks like my shipment hit the late train so might not be here until Monday.
