    Testing your sites for mobile - what hardware?

    OK so in an effort to get with the times I am reviewing the mobile functionality of my sites and I wonder what hardware you guys are using for this.

    I have my personal Samsung Galaxy Note phone and tablet, which I have hacked adobe flash into, so that doesn't really give me a clear idea of user experience, since most of them are not going to be installing unsupported packages.

    I am thinking I should go on ebay or something and get a used gen 1 or 2 ipad for iOS testing and maybe a cheap android phone a gen or two old and leave it vanilla.

    Is that gonna work? Or are there big changes with the latest gen Mac and Android stuff that I need to be up to date on?

    Oh, and are there emulators that will do it from a desktop?
    - As soon as I think up a good sig it's going here.

              Given the iPad accounts for maybe 60% of our mobile traffic, I'd say it would be very worthwhile picking one up to test on.
