here's what I'm doing abouyt the tax situation

I'm working less and earning less, because the more I work and earn the more I'm punished ... strange how it all turned out... the year that I pulled the most I had the least amount walk around money... no more of that for me :thumbsup

arock10 01-17-2014 12:35 PM

reinvesting into misspelled thread titles I see

JockoHomo 01-17-2014 01:06 PM

Yes, that is how you are rewarded...giving more to the corrupt government to waste...err...I mean spend. You can never have too many $400 hammers after all.

The joys of being an Amerikan!

Markul 01-17-2014 01:12 PM

Lollol try coming to my country.

Basic taxation is around 46%, then to that you add 8% labor security tax, then you add another 15% on all amounts earned above $100K a year (and lots of us do well over that).

Then top it off with adding 25% VAT on anything you buy. And don't even get me started on the 180% income tax on cars, tax on sugar, chocolate, alcohol, electricity - you name it.

dehash 01-17-2014 01:30 PM

So where are u from?

lol....even if I were on welfare I seriously doubt the money would be coming from some guy living the Ted Kaczynski lifestyle in the woods of Montana.

Regardless, the keyword in your post was net. You're not paying 50% tax on your gross, so get your damn net down and pay less taxes, and that doesnt mean make less like you apparently think it does.

You do know people work hard and just make less money. Much harder then you. You are taking pics of naked chicks in a mansion... Hardly can be compared someone actually sweating for their money and probably making a lot less

American Psycho 01-17-2014 06:44 PM

The American dream is bullshit.
it's practically impossible to become rich the system is set up that way

fuck the government find every way to not pay your taxes.

The working man is a sucker.
I'm including myself in that.

create an s corp and get paid in quarterly dividends on half of your income. Takes you down to 15 % on that money. Talk to your cpa.

ThunderBalls 01-18-2014 02:21 PM

Translation: I am heading for financial disaster so instead of looking in the mirror I'll blame it on wanting to lower my tax liability.

PornDiscounts-V 01-18-2014 02:34 PM

Try reinvesting your cash so that it isn't taxed... hm???

Penny24Seven 01-18-2014 05:05 PM

pay someone to do your taxes then, in this biz you should not be paying taxes on everything you make. If you do not know how to do them right it is worth paying someone 500 to save you 10K

DBS.US 01-18-2014 06:31 PM

Bitcoin pays no taxes:winkwink:

I've been a truck driver, worked in a wire mill, a concrete finisher, iron worker, heavy equipment operator, film electrician in the past... content production is a VERY difficult job at the level I work at .. you are punching buttons on a keyboard, who are you to judge? :2 cents:

yes it does .... the best year I ever had went into expenses and taxes... the brain trust here can't seem to understand is you're only allowed to deduct 'x' amount in expenses and then the rest must be amortized... i.e. spend 150K on gear, write of 25k and pay tax on the other 125k that you don't even have, but the following 5 years you can write 'x' percent of the 125k off... computers are the worse... before you can even get the fucking things written off they need to be replaced. I actually had more expendable income when I was grossing 250K a year with net of about 70k-90K... it's amazing to me

oddly enough I see a trend here at GFY and in social media in general that 'we are owed money' and 'have been cheated' by 'the gov, whitey, the man, big business etc' very difficult to find quality people that believe in working hard and earning funds...

At least 47% of people are that way :winkwink:
Unfortunately. And thats why it's good for politicians to cater to slackers/losers - they are majority of voters.
Just punish minority hard working-more earning people and give that money to slackers.

Even at 40% it means the first 25 minutes of each hour you are working for someone else. That sucks no matter how you look at it.

Minte 01-19-2014 06:13 AM

Higher taxes are a fact of life now, but at the end of the day keeping 50% of a million is still better than keeping 60% of five hundred thousand.

HerPimp 01-19-2014 06:24 AM

Look at taxes like donations... your supporting the troops, interstate highways and the elderly.

But ?. A large percentage of highway costs are paid by other taxes, gas, diesel, etc. And most of the elderly paid 15% of their earnings to the Federal Government in the form of social security taxes and are getting back what they paid.

These are taxes paid which aren't included in your federal or state returns. They're additional taxes raising your actual rates much higher.

Ok so you are saying you worked hard on lower paying jobs to get where you are. Ever think that this is what a lot of other people are doing too? Maybe realize that fox news, etc just loves to pick out individual cases of people being total fucking slackers and mooching off the government.

I'm the person that is saying don't judge these people lol, you are the one doing the judging. My job is extremely easy for the amount of money I make. Sorry your job is very difficult still, maybe you should've done something more lucrative that is easier.

Sorry one more post.

You do know that the Bush tax cuts were made permanent and the only change was for earners above $400k. Otherwise the taxes have been the same rate.... I'm not an accountant and there may have been other changes (mostly ending halving the payroll tax... but that effected lower earners the most), but nothing has changed much. Taxes are still extremely low relative to the rest of the western world, but the rest of the western world doesn't have to pay for healthcare so it balances out... maybe... slightly..

You can go back to the beginning of time and you won't find any case where 60% percent of $500k is more than 50% of 1 million. That's junior high school level math, Tony.

dyna mo 01-19-2014 08:18 AM

recently watched a Rolling Stones documentary- the Mick Taylor years 1969-1974, good doc too.

They were in the 90% tax bracket at that time, they should have just worked less.
