bennifits of obama care
let's see..... my premiums went from $398 to $475, (not bad) the deductible went from $2500 to $5000 and the price of one of my prescription went from $20 to $85.46
|
Well, just think of all the time you'll save now that you don't have to worry about how to spend that extra money!

Don't pick the lowest plan..they have the highest deductible..to get a $5k deductible you are likely picking the bronze plan.. I do find it funny that it's always people whom are complainers of Obamacare that always have the higher prices.. Go figure.

Personally mine went up $25, but I've gone from catastrophic to a silver plan ps: health insurance is going up with or without obamacare |
I'm finally insured! Although I haven't tested that yet, doctor appt upcoming.

So mine went from $525 or so to $1100 with Aetna for me and my 2girls. We've never spent anywhere close to $13K in a year for healthcare. So I decided to switch to another company that is only $629 but the plan won't start until Feb1st, so we actually are uninsured this month for first time.
I will say its a brilliant plan between government and the insurance companies to funnel billions upon billions of public money to private companies in the form of subsidies. To bad I didn't come up with that plan. |

She received hers for $180-190 (silver plan again with dental) and then gets a $60 subsidy subtracted from that. Earning ~$25k a year, working part time while going to college part time Sorry you are old and live in a more expensive state ;) |

Just as a reminder. From 2008-2010 democrats/liberals had control. Why didn't they do basic free healthcare. Like the rest of the world. Rather they put this pile of garbage in place without even reading the law. |

Lie of the Year: 'If you like your health care plan, you can keep it'
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-me...-plan-keep-it/ I'm lucky I guess, I live near a VA hospital and use them now, total cost last year was $260 for me. I can get on my Fiance's medical next year when we get married for nothing because her employer covers everything. My best friend has had his insurance more than double for himself and his daughter with a large deductible. As everyone knows, I have been against this since the beginning and I was right till someone proves me wrong. No one has proved me wrong, the only proof anyone has had that it's going to be a good thing was based on lies given out by the Obama Administration. |
People who had insurance are paying more and get only two benefits. 1 the caps on total out of pocket expense are much lower than they had been (chance of being bankrupted by medical costs is down quite a bit), and 2 a friend or relative you know is now getting to go to the doctor unlike before...
The ONLY system that ever made sense is single payer basic and private supplemental insurance. This is the first incremental step toward that eventuality. How fast we get there is the real question. |

Also the VA is one of the biggest clusterfucks there is. Something doesn't make sense here... Anti brand new healthcare program but you like the VA? |
30 million of your fellow countrymen that could not get insurance before can now.
The government won't say it, so I will. THANK YOU for your contribution to the health of your country. Maybe it'll seem worth it in time. |

All I hear and read about is how grateful those that didn't have insurance are, and how those that had insurance are either getting dropped or paying to much. Seems the better thing would have been to address the problem of the uninsured and leave the insured alone. No? , |

Meanwhile the same people never gave it a second thought about the funneling of money to defense contractors for either the Iraq war or Afghan war.. When Obamacare cost adds up to 5 trillion dollars please speak up because that's how much both those wars have cost us. Give or take a trillion. |
"obamacare" is pointless as long as the insurance companies are still in charge. i am just a simpleton but it seems to me that there needs to be set prices across the board for all insurance providers and breakdowns of how these prices are reached. the pubic deserves to know what they are paying for.
like i said before the only good thing about it is insurance companies can't deny people based on pre existing conditions however if all they do is jack up everyone's premiums to cover the cost of these people, thats not going to work. |

I agree that it would be nice to have more tax dollars going to healthcare instead of tanks. Forcing everyone to buy insurance is just corporate welfare for the insurance industry because the AIG bailout wasn't enough. Insurance is not healthcare. |
how do they calculate all that? :)

25% of the uninsured are small business owners and they are mostly just going to get fined. Big business is even exempt from paying proper fines, if they fail to provide insurance, but small and medium businesses are not. At least in the State of California, if your business grosses any remotely reasonable amount, you do not qualify for help, but it seems you can be fined for not being able to afford insurance. Medi-cal is based on gross and not net. |

I see the same doctor each time I go. She follows up with a secure email system. I can get refills on their website and they ship directly to my address. When I get an appointment for say 1 pm, I'm talking to the doctor by 1:15 at the latest. Couple months ago, I had a really bad pain in my gut, I went to the VA. It's not a hospital there so they got me an ambulance in less than 10 minutes and they took me to a regular hospital. Everything paid for by the VA. Turned out to be a virus and I was better the next day. Unlike what people will have to go thru because of government bureaucracy and Obamacare broken promises. Obamacare isn't about healthcare, it's about healthcare insurance |
