Seems like some twenty thousand dollars of damage was done. Bieber has been pissing off his neighbors for the past year. They staged an early morning raid because they knew they would find drugs - they were right - and they took so many officers because his house is less of a house in the conventional sense, and more of a party pad where a dozen people live.

The police most likely used the egging as an excuse to take a look and I am guessing they aren't too surprised at what they found.

Not too difficult for the average bear to figure out.

The egg whites are used in some glues and the yolks were once used as hardeners in paints and for their ability to stick to almost any surface. It makes sense to me. First his neighbours have been complaining about the loud parties non-stop, and considering the prices of the houses you would want things to stay quite at least once in a while. Next considering the fact that he's young, its very likely that under age people might be there too. All the extra cops detectives might have been there to look for minors. Maybe its a bit much but it sounds like that neighbourhood's police department offers great service.

Regarding number of people raiding - nobody thought that probably every detective wanted/asked to participate in raiding his house so their superior allowed that.
