Guy barely misses winning $50K on a $100 bet.

I was reading earlier that a guy bet $100 on Auburn to win the National Championship before the season started. He got 500 to 1 odds.

Through a few miracle finishes and some other teams losing they played in the title game tonight, but lost by three points.

He was told earlier that if placed a big bet on FSU that he couldn't lose, but he said he was going to ride it out. I wonder if he changed his mind and ended up winning something or if he died of a heart attack as FSU scored right at the end of the game to win.

Well I recently missed out on winning $70 million.

Long and the short of it is, I forgot to buy a ticket and would have chosen the wrong numbers but I still missed out on winning $70 million off of $16 cost...

I nearly missed more or less $50k at least twice on one dollar parlay tickets. It's always one goal more or less

I wanted to put $100 down on the avalanch for the stanley cup this year. I think they were 200/1 when the season started. They're like 20/1 now as they're doing so well.

I don't bet one sports anymore though, no good places to online for US residents anymore.

He is an idiot. Take the money off the table when you can not when you have to.

Two years ago I bought my niece and nephews the holiday scratch-offs that no one ever wins because I loved them when I was a kid. My nephew, 7 at the time, won $1,000. Merry Christmas, kiddo. That was a phone call that I enjoyed getting, he was so fucking excited. And the incident has cemented my legacy as the best uncle ever. I'll take that.

As for me, my luck when it comes to gambling is shit. I put $100 on the Steelers to beat the Browns in '09 or '10. In ten years the browns have beat the steelers 2 times, and that was one of them. My luck blows.

Nope. Auburn was up 21-10 and halftime. FSU ended up scoring a touchdown in the last minute of the game and won by 3 points. So he lost.

Damn he should have hedged that bet. FSU and the money line for 25 dimes. Win, win.

I went to a liquor store one time and on the way inside I passed by an old homeless woman begging for money. I selected a bottle and walked up to the register. The homeless woman must have been given some money by someone because she hurried over to the register before I got there. She bought a scratch off ticket and like a typical crackhead began to scratch it off right there. I handed the cashier some money for my purchase and said I would take the next scratch off ticket from the same roll the woman had selected hers. Just then she let out a big sigh because she did not win. I also scratched it off like a crackhead right there in the store. I won $50. It was not much money to me but to her it was the world. The look on her face was priceless.:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh And no I did not give the dumb bitch a penny of my winnings. This happened when I was in college. If it happened today I would have given her half since I am not such a sociopath anymore.

I haven't heard if he ever gave in and hedged his bet. He could have walked away with something no matter what the outcome.

I once bet $2 on a Trifecta and I won 350, if I would of bet 20 or even a hundred my winning would have been in the thousands. That's why they call it gambling because you never know?

I'm not worried about those kids a bit, so far. They're pretty centered on the Christian methodology, to put it lightly and bluntly. My nephew has been talking about becoming a pastor for years, and my niece will soon be setting off on her first mission to South America with her mom.

I'm the family oddball. I simply can not believe what they do, or the way they do, but I see in some ways how it is beneficial to them. I come from an extremely religious family and those kids are the product of it.

If the time comes when they want to put the legendary uncle status to the test, they've got my full attention. I love those kids. I'm not looking forward to the challenge, but I'll tell you this: there's not a thing in this world I wouldn't do for them, and the sorry mother fucker who first means to harm one of them is in a position that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

I will maintain that status. It's my badge. Until I hit the dirt.:2 cents:

I have had good and bad luck with bets like that. While playing the dollar slots I bet $1 and hit three flaming 7's. Nothing happened. I looked up and saw that I should have won $1,000, but then I saw that the three flaming 7's only count if you bet the max of $3 on the spin so I got nothing.

I got lucky once during a layover in Vegas on my way to Florida. I decided to spend $10 on a a $1 slot machine and hit for $450 on my second spin. After collecting my payout I went to get something to eat and met Chow Yun Fat at the Cinnabon. It was the best layover ever.

A long time ago I remember reading how a loyal Minnesota Twins fan always laid down a $100 bet for the Twins to win the World Series. Every year when he was at a trade show he made the same bet. One year the Twins were dead last, next year they win everything and the payoff was huge.

He should have brought some help to swing the odds in his favor.
