Wanted: Your thoughts on REV vs. PPS in 2014 (webcam edition)

When it comes to cams, I've always had the best luck with PPS. I've tested Revshare several times over the years, but have always had better luck with the instant payouts.

Don't see that changing in 2014, but I'm interested to hear other opinions/experiences.

run tests, you can always split your traffic during test periods half of it selling PPS and the other half Revshare, bottom line you will see the profitability of your PPS sales at the end of the test period unlike revshare where profitability will not be visible immediately.

Yes, of course. I run lots of split tests. And PPS always seems to work out better for me.

But I'm just curious what's working for other small to mid-size webmasters and what others think the next year holds.

I'd love to see a cam model referral program with revshare.. never had luck with jasmin (signed up a bunch of people but either their first try failed and when they made a 2nd account I was not credited, even if they came back to me asking for help with signup, support just said sorry but..). and chaturbate is a flat fee per live performer. revshare, even a small % would be awesome. any programs that I'm not aware of?

I've done very well with dating on revshare, but never tried it for webcams.

I think this month I'll build a new network of sites with a few thousand pages and try it out.

Are you kidding? The worst shaving I've seen is tied to revshare. Sponsors differ in this area though.

Yep. There are more opportunities to shave in revshare. With revshare you have to really trust the sponsor for the long haul. With PPS you evaluate performance monthly and can cut loose to the competition if performance isn't adequate.

The bigger problem with cams is the lack of competition for affiliates. You have only a handful of viable sponsors and many are focused primarily on the tube whales.

We never got our affiliate program to work for our cam system, so we gave up. Affiliates wanted 50% rev share plus tools, which left little to no cash left over for the models + ourselves. Buying traffic is much cheaper and easier to manage.

Most cams programs pay around 20% revshare. 50% for cams is almost unheard of for this very reason.
