How can blog like this http://thehottestmilfs69.tumblr.com/ even monetize?
That one http://faymougles.tumblr.com/ , I get it, he has adf.ly all over the fucking place...

Why not just host your own content and have full control? More SE traffic VS tumblr search traffic, which is kinda crappy traffic.

fitzmulti 01-04-2014 03:58 PM

Whew...sometimes I wonder...

srockhard 01-04-2014 04:25 PM

People dont use tumblr because they want to save on hosting cost, they use it because it have high trust factor with google plus internal traffic.

the question should be How can you monetize and not be banned?

I have a few pages left that made it through multiple bans. There support would tell you different things depending who you talk to. Once you pages become bigger they wont last long.

If you have to ask, Don't waste your time with Tumblr:2 cents:

I think both Stoya, and Jacky St. James do an amazing job with tumblr. (Siri used it effectively but tumblr took it down, says my girlfriend)

It's a good blog platform if you are writing from a consistent personal viewpoint, your persona as an adult film star or a brand name pornographer, and you are reaching a younger or female audience - but you always need to keep in mind the platform's terms of service may change or ban you, and you need to have a back up of your content and a plan to move to something stable longterm.

It's probably not a good place to have a spam blog.

Tumblr is good if you work hard on content.

LucyVanAngel 01-05-2014 03:17 PM

Host your tumblr blog on your own domain and you are safe

I don't think tumblr is for porn, they have google ad's and google don't advertise with porn.

anthonyb5615 01-05-2014 03:32 PM

Lul wot?Tumblr don't have any ads.and what users put there it's purely their choice. Not to the mention even if it would have ads they would definitely not be google ads since tumblr is owned by yahoo.

That can't be true surely?

A self-hosted blog is configured through your account, and your account can be banned at any time. Unless I'm missing something.

I presume by that he means if you use your own domain, rather than the tublr domain (you can set this up on your tumblr site). That if the worst happens and it gets shut that you can still turn your domain into a wp blog and your still keeping your traffick, or even set up a new tumblr account with your domain name.

Thats what I presume he means.

yeah, I worked it out second time around. I first off thought that he meant to host the script!
BTW it's not easy to move a domain name to a new tumblr blog, you used to (I dunno about now) have to ask them to do it as it's locked to the first blog you made. if the first blog was canned because they thought your blog was spammy or something then they'll be keeping a close eye on the second. best to do as first suggested and redirect to a WP blog.
