Just wasted my whole fucking day...

....building a site to advertise one program. It looks great in this resolution, but the css is fluid, or liquid, or responsive, or whatever the fuck you want to call it...

And upon checking it out on all my other devices, I find it looks like total fucking garbage.

So ends my first honest day of work for 2014.

Mother fucking shit.

On the bright side all the major work is done, so when I get done being pissed off and settle on a new design, I won't have very much to do...

How do you guys prevent this from happening?

If anyone has the answer I promise I won't put my fist through the screen no matter how obvious it is or stupid I feel for not knowing.

Perhaps that is the universe's way of telling you to stay out of the twink niche.

http://html.adobe.com/edge/reflow/ - Great for doing responsive design work...

Did you build using a CSS framework? Check out Bootstrap 3 framework.

I guess it's just easier to say that I was intending to build static that would look great on a desktop. And it does, On THIS ONE... I'm real happy with the results.

But this CSS fucked me. I was under the impression that responsive design actually meant responsive, in that the images would scale down or up depending on the resolution of the viewer.

All this fucking thing does is smash everything together as screen resolution gets smaller. No image resize, etc.

I guess I just misunderstood the meaning of the word 'responsive.'

Oh well.

If you never fuck up, you never learn. :upsidedow

I'm familiar with it... as in I'm familiar with its existence, but I've never used or found it necessary to use.

I'm not sure how, if at all, it would make any difference in this case.

If you can fill me in, I appreciate it.

If it's an outright joke, well done. I'm going to spend way too much time investigating it now.:thumbsup

i am on my day 12,
still fucking with this bootstrap responsive theme.
i so hate it, old days were better create 2 sites and add javascript to detect and redirect.
now it looks complete on desktop and looks fucked on small screen.

You just made me feel less alone in the world.... my condolences.

Things move on - Stop trying to reinvent the wheel - Use one of the responsive frameworks and add your own pics/videos...

Things are easier than 12 months ago - Seriously.....
