Whats the going rate to get a avg 2 car driveway with 10 inches of snow cleaned?

2 car driveway and the steps?

The mexicans here got a great racket going heheheh

If anybody can shoot me figures and where they live that would be great

I was chattin gone of em up and they get 100 bucks plus for a 2 car give or take..then clean the cars and a la carte shit...

ehhehehe

RubyGoodnight 01-03-2014 08:05 AM

My folks just had theirs done here in RI this morning. $40 for a "standard" 2-car driveway. My grandmother has a slightly longer one and she got charged $50. They didn't clean off the cars, though - just the driveway and in-between the cars.

That seems high. Around here guys drive around with backhoes and clean you out in 15 minutes for $40 or so. This is Canadia though. Probably not too many backhoes wheeling around city streets.

Minte 01-03-2014 08:11 AM

My drive is about 200' long with parking pads for 8 cars. The guys I contract come in with a truck and plow and a bobcat for close around the buildings. They charge $60 whether we get an inch or a foot of snow.

Harmon 01-03-2014 08:12 AM

$100 and a driveway that small with some steps? Fuck that shit. I'd shovel it myself and then buy a gallon of whiskey and a bag of weed to warm up with after (and still have some money in my pocket). :2 cents:

Spunky 01-03-2014 08:14 AM

Buy a snow blower and do it yourself

Plus you'd get an exercise.
100 buckets is waste of money.

Hey, I'm originally from Boston. I've been there and done that shit, man. Hence the reason I no longer deal with that bullshit and live where I do. :winkwink:

troncarver 01-03-2014 08:33 AM

Paid the neighbor's kid 10 bucks. I wouldn't say he did a $50 job but its better him than me at any price.

:1orglaugh:1orglaugh good strategy.

candyflip 01-03-2014 10:39 AM

I pay $10. There's about 10 feet behind my vehicles. Very small driveway.

There's 15 inches easily in my backyard at the moment.

It's pointless to simply clear the driveways of snow here. The moment the car moves from the driveway, you get stuck on the road anyway since nobody ever clears them. So it's a complete waste of time...

MaDalton 01-03-2014 11:09 AM

i just drive taxi

Rochard 01-03-2014 11:22 AM

Silly people.

I grew up in North West NJ in the mountains and when it snowed, nothing fucking moved. We spent our summers collecting wood because we knew our power would go out, and spent our winters shoveling the driveway which was a quarter of a mile long. During a big storm it would take days for the snow plow to reach us. What a massive waste of fucking time - remove the snow, and it returns again a few weeks later. Fuck that.

After going through this a dozen times each year as a kid, and once I learned that there are places where it doesn't snow... I promised myself I would live in a place where it never snows. Here I am in Northern California. It doesn't snow here, but snow is an hour away if I ever want to see it.

No wonder why California, Texas, and Florida have massive population increases every year.

Barry-xlovecam 01-03-2014 12:16 PM

About a half-gallon of fuel for my old New Holland skid-steer loader I keep in the barn and 25 minutes of my time. There is 168 feet of driveway to the road, plus parking for 3 or 4 cars here. 10" would be a double-pass with the bucket ...

I have paid $20 or $30 18 years ago when I had that machine on a job site -- I was a Mason Contractor back then.

MichaelP 01-03-2014 12:22 PM

I pay about 450$ for all winter for a double driveway...

I live in QUEBEC so we have a lot of that white shit these days.... :1orglaugh

Gary_TLX 01-03-2014 12:38 PM

I don't shovel the snow, my driveway is way too long for that. I let nature run it's course, she put it there, she will make it disappear... In the winter I drive a big ass 4WD that is capable of going over anything, snow isn't really an issue, ever.

JockoHomo 01-03-2014 12:58 PM

Let me look out the window and tell you...be right back.

Oh that's right, it's 75 degrees and sunny...sorry can't tell ya.

JFK 01-03-2014 01:27 PM

pay about 50 for one of my parking lots , all the other places I do with a snowblower :thumbsup

It's easy to keep warm. Texas and Florida in July is one level above hell. California is ok, but you know that an 8.1 is long overdue.

RebelR 01-03-2014 01:55 PM

wow, Farmers around here will blow out your driveway for about 40 bucks with a tractor and blower. Driveways are usually a couple hundred feet. They charge a bit more if you need other areas done. I'd rent a small compact tractor and drive around neighborhoods undercutting them and still make a fortune.

Naughty 01-03-2014 02:29 PM

Poor people from the future do it for 25 cents, just saw it on Southpark ;-)

It is long over due. I live in NorCal and we don't have earthquakes in this area, they tend to hit SoCal or San Fran.

I lived through 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake which wasn't such a big deal, but the aftermath was - We had no power for three days and everything quickly went downhill. Doesn't sound bad until you factor in everything in your fridge goes bad in 24 hours, you can't cook unless you have a BBQ handy, and you can't run to the store to buy anything because.... There's no power.

I am ready - we have plenty of food and water on hand.

Juicy asked for an opinion on the snow removal rates. You provided a really fucking boring story and a plug for California. :1orglaugh

$100 is a rip off for your drive way Juicy. $50 max, even in NY.

You've got to be fucking kidding me. $100 for a fucking driveway? lol.

Kid next door did mine this morning, Juicy. I have a 12X20 drive that opens into a 5 car parking area that itself is around 40X15. It snowed like a bitch here all day yesterday (Ohio), 8 inches minimum.

He drives a hard bargain, $25 and I threw in about a pound of leftover Halloween candy.

Fuck those greedy Mexicans. Find a 12 year old with a shovel who wants money to buy dumb shit and you've got it made.
