The Stop File Lockers site and Copy Control website were under DDoS all morning (our time). I don't know if it's related.

Wasnt just GFY all of AVNs sites were down, presumably all hosted on the same server...My guess is Manwins check was late

why would anybody attack gfy I don't get it. Is just a forum and if you are pissed with some users and have a fight it is in no way GFY fault. And on top of it whoever did it is hurting lots of other ppl that did not do him anything, ppl that need gfy to do business and make a living. It is pathetic.

When Stop File Lockers began in mid 2012 there were a number of attacks on GFY as some miscreants perceived GFY as being responsible for an assault on their illicit income.

People do it for all sorts of reasons, usually it's a sign of someone having a complete and utter hissy fit over something they don't like. It's the digital equivalent of cracking the shits, pouting and sulking or throwing things around in a tantrum.

The whois say its Level3, they work with a lot of cable installers. You might wanna hit them up and give them some advice :winkwink:

Level3 is legit, but they don't host GFY, they just own the net block, as far as I know.

Ever think it may not be GFY they were targeting but one of the others sites on the same server? or maybe the server just loast an nic board or a memory module or a disk drive or the cpu died or any number of things.....its a bit egotistical to just think it was all about gfy

gfy gave 502 error message for a while

Unless you weren't aware (which I am guessing you are not), right around the same time everything went down, there was a clown making ambiguous threats about the place.
