Is it my imagination or is the MILK BAG a purely Canadian phenomenon?

Would you believe there's actually 2 to 4 more bags of milk inside the big bag? You can never waste enough plastic.

is there smoke coming out my ears? because, my brain hurts.

and the best part of it is when they are leaking or you drop a sharp object on em and have to fling the things in the sink and suck the rest of the milk out.

Believe it or not but ive drank from these motherfuckers all my life and ive never attempted to throw on or smash it or anything. WTF is wrong with me?

The great British bottle of milk is facing a new threat - from plastic bags.

The two-pint clear plastic pouches are being sold in supermarkets in the west as part of an eight week pilot.

Dairy Crest is pioneering the delivery of milk in the plastic bags which cost 2p less than a two-pint plastic bottle and the company says they take up less space in landfill sites.

The dairy is following in the steps of Canadian, Indian and Swiss dairies by selling milk in the plastic bags.

But shoppers didn't seem too keen on the idea. .

One told HTV West Online that she would stick to the bottles "because the bags could split and were difficult to carry."

The new pouches may signal another change to our milk-buying habits.
First it was milk delivered in glass bottles, then it became available in cartons. The plastic bottle emerged in the 1990's - and by last year about ninety percent of the country's milk was bought in a plastic container.

Plastic milk pouches have been used in Canada for the last thirty years.

Consumers can use the milk or freeze it. Dairies and shops supply milk jugs in to which the pouch is placed and then cut open.

Buying trends have also changed as the door- to-door milkman has faced increasing competition from supermarkets and shops. Last year nearly three-quarters of the nine billion pints of milk consumed in Britain were bought from supermarkets or other retailers.

Restating the obvious is simply an alternative way of admitting your stupidity.

you can get milk bags at some places in PA. I think the place my parent's used to get them are out near Lancaster. It used to be a big treat for us to get chocolate milk in a bag. They sold orange juice in a bag too.

Just think how natural this is. The milk started ina bag, the udders were added to be squeezed and provide a delivery system. All you need for your bag is a self sealing nipple and you can suck yourself to oblivion. What will they think of next!

naw, she usually didn't drink while she was pregnant. she never could drive on gravel well though. when she was pregnant with me she ended up going in the ditch and rolling dad's pristine 1970 2-door skylark. he had to cut the body off of it and we drove it around the farm that way for years.

Okay, so OTHER than the huge industrial-sized milk bags that they use in college cafeterias in the big silver boxes that have that funky white tube attached to.. I have never heard of this or seen it before.

Let me get this straight. You have a bowl of cereal. You yank a BAG of milk out of the fridge and... poke a hole in it? That bag looks pretty full... how do you poke a hole in it without it summarily squirting milk all over the counter? (Bags of liquid tend to like to flatten as quickly as possible when pierced.)
So now you've got what's left of your bag of milk, and a big fucking mess you've got to clean up on the counter. You use the hole in the bag to squirt some milk onto your cereal.
Then what?
Throw the rest away? Because if you just set it back into the fridge, it will again do that thing where it tries to flatten itself immediately through its new spiffy vent hole.

Let's say you pour it into some other kind of container, and then put that container in the fridge. Then you go clean up your spilled milk (hopefully without crying over it, groan), and toddle off to eat your now soggy cereal.

Jesus, it's now taken you five freaking minutes to put some damn milk on your cereal when you could've just opened up a carton (or jug), poured the milk on, and put it back in less than 15 seconds.

There is a reason some countries are ahead of other countries. Like it or not, the truths like this one are out there.

there is a whole secondary industry involved in the production of beautifully coloured and shaped MILK BAG CONTAINERS but unfortunately those seem to be the one object you cant find a pic of on Google image search.

Someone needs to take a pic of their milk bag container and become the first poster ever of a milk bag container.

You can get a little container thing that holds the milk bag. It's really quite remarkable.

my mom has a milk bag pitcher. You put the bag in and the front of the container as a place where you put the open edge of the bag to keep it sealed when not used.
