skip it he I paid for that rip off once. Look on his search engine people will pay $70 for a hit to burn up the $$

Don't be so sure. On one pay per click search engine we've still got $24.87 out of our initial deposit of $25.00. This is about 2 years after we opened the account. We even maxed the bid on all our keywords.

Its actually a good idea. He gets higher bids for keywords so the people that are actually paying full price have to pay more. He also gets the word out about his site by listing this auction. Its a great idea for a new PPC engine. Its luck whehter or not it'll ever take off. Chances are not, as I've seen hundreds of PPC search engines doing the exact same thing.

I think it would be VERY smart business wise for Overture and others to do this as it would increase advertising revenue dramatically. (That 10 cents a click minimum is just ridiculous.)

is the purpose of this auction just to draw attention to the site and get some traffic there?.... sounds pretty desperate

They have been selling hits like that on Ebay for quite some time.
Um yeah I think it might take 10 years to get all of those.

DON'T buy it. Here's what happens. He is basing the hits on 1 cent bids. OK. Now he sells the same deal to you and several other people on ebay. So now more and more people have 90k in their account to buy spots. Well, when you want the keyword "monkey sex" and so do a few others the bid price goes up and up and up. Hey it's just fake money. Pretty soon the top keywords are several hundred to several thousand dollars. Your 9 million hits are now just a few hundred or thousand.
