Pennywize type scripts
Hello. I am writing this to find out if there is someone who has made a similar systemt to pennywise that uses the
mod_rewrite to direct log traffic to a cgi for analysis and also for authetication to decide if it is a legit or a username that has been shared and of course to check usage in terms of bandwidth. I am looking to do it all on my server and dont see the need to subscribe to pennywize when we have all the tools on the linux box using apache. It is one less cgi to call for every authentication request. I am not suggesting pennywize is a rip off , I just think I should be able to do the same thing locally on the server itself. Has anyone played around this this idea? |
You should check out Password Sentry. I have had it for a little while now, and it seems to be working great. It installs on your server, has a one-time fee (per domain), and seems to compete very well with much more expensive products.
