Moving paysites to a new server - need hosting/tech advice please

I'm moving some paysites to a new dedicated server - content/scripts/html/everything is now on the new server. Server isn't live yet, I tested the sites on the new server and when I try to get into the protected members areas I get 'Internal Server Configuration Error', and let the hosting tech handling this move know. I use both CCBILL and Epoch on these sites.

Here's what the tech has advised me, does this sound right?

"For sites that involve payment processing gateways, you will need to open a ticket with CCBill requesting to configure this new server. We have allowed SSH access to your server from their network. Also, you will need to let them know that server is in temporary IP and will have same IP later on.

I am sending you SSH credentials:

Server: ***.***.***.**
Username: *********
Password: *************"

That sounds about right - You can clone the server 100% but the IP is the one thing that will always change...

CCBill are the ones that should deal with it - Maybe Epoch will be involved, it depends on the relationship you have with them.....

but once the new server is 'live' the IP's will be the same as they are on the current server.

OK - Then I assume you are staying with the same host - Give CCBill both the IPs that they might get traffic from/too - Its not a huge issue at all...

Well, it shouldn't be a huge issue:winkwink:.....

For "Internal Server Configuration Error" just make sure your path in your htaccess file to your htpasswd file is correct. Not sure why CCBill would need SSH access?

how hard is it to move to a new server on the same hosting company - both CCBILL and the hosting company are running me around in circles.

CCBILL asking me for URL's to their scripts on the new server, I don't have access to the new server :Oh crap

Try to get them both on the phone at the same time - Skype is good for this - Ask them a geeky question and then slowly move away from the computer...

If you still have issues you need to play dirty - Tell both of them that the other one says he is sick of dealing with Indian MS support idiots.....

It shouldn't be hard to even move to a new server on a different host. Just move all the CCBill files over and make sure your htpasswd path is the correct. You won't be able to add new usernames on the new server till the domain switches over, but you can access the members section with any existing username. Or just give CCBill the FTP info of the new server via the temp IP.
